American Fork High School
Principal's Message

Dear AFHS Students and Parents:

I hope you all have had a splendid summer! School is about to begin and we wanted to welcome you back for our 2018-2019 school year! I’m delighted for the great year we will have together. There are so many positive things going on at our school and I know your student will have a great experience.

August 20 begins the 2018-2019 school year. We encourage you to get involved, meet new friends, and show your school PRIDE: Persistent, Respectful, Open-Minded, Understanding, and Dependable.  All school year long we will be showing why we’re “Proud to be Cavemen!”

Thank you for attending American Fork High School and helping to make this a fantastic year!

Daniel P. Weishar
It is time to begin the annual back to school process.

Here are the most critical steps to begin the school year off right:

  • Update your contact information in Skyward! This is extremely important! IF YOUR INFORMATION ON SKYWARD IS NOT CORRECT YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO PAY ANY SCHOOL FEES ONLINE.
  • Finalize your schedule.
  • Pay your school fees on starting immediately. Watch for an email regarding student fees.
  • Review our website for important dates and information. (

If you are new to American Fork High School this year, you have moved/transferred or are an incoming sophomore. We invite you to come to our school Open House on Friday, August 17 from 8:30 – 10:30 am. I hope you will familiarize yourself with the building layout, find your locker, and meet our amazing teachers.

Be sure to stop by the Main Office and meet the administrators and support staff. Please be sure to print your student's schedule off of Skyward before attending.
The Counseling Office is now open to help new students register for classes and students who want to make class changes. A $5 class change fee will need to be paid in the Finance Office for any class changes.
New Students will need to call and set an appointment. Call Lisa at (801) 610-8801.
The Couseling Office will be closed Wednesday, August 15th.

New Parking Policy
We have attached our new Parking Lot Rules and Regulations for the upcoming school year. Please read these over with your student(s) before filling them out.

Here are the steps in obtaining a Parking Pass:

·      Aug 13 th is the day permits will go on sale.
·      Print and fill out Parking Form.
*These forms can also be picked up from the Parking Attendant’s Office beginning the first day of school.
·    Show form to Finance Secretary to purchase pass.
*Please remember that school fees must be paid in order to purchase a pass and that this year we are allowing up to two passes to be purchased per family for up to 2 family owned vehicles. Students may not purchase a pass for another student, and this action would result in both students having parking privileges revoked.
·    Take form and receipt to Parking Attendant and she will distribute the passes.
·   Purchasing a parking pass does not guarantee students a parking spot . We recommend students arrive at school by 7:30 in order to secure a parking spot.

We’re excited for the upcoming school year and will continue to reward students with close parking spots for various reasons. We hope your student will be one of them and will cooperate with us in obeying our Parking Lot Rules not only for their safety, but for the safety of their classmates also.
