Welcome Message from Mr. Imamovic
Dear Families,
It is with great enthusiasm that I write this letter of introduction as the new Assistant Principal of School Culture at HSA McKinley Park. I am extremely grateful and excited to join the HSA Family! I look forward to working in partnership with Mr. Vedziovski and the staff - to continue the work of advocating for and providing all students and families with an educational experience where values and diversity are celebrated.
Prior to joining HSA McKinley Park, I worked as a Dean of Students at a local private school for 7 years and classroom teacher for 10 years prior to that. My academic background includes a Bachelor's of Science in Education and a Master's of Education in Pedagogy and Didactics from Graduate Theological Foundation. Currently, I am working towards my second Master’s degree in Educational Leadership. I am committed to continuous professional growth and ensuring educational equity and access for all of our students.
On a more personal note, my wife, Amra and I enjoy spending time with our three children. We love traveling, exploring different hiking trails, and visiting national parks.
I am committed to working alongside Mr. Vedziovski, Ms. Bivens, and Ms. Koson - as we continue to provide leadership and develop a school culture synonymous with excellence, dedication, and collaboration - so that ALL students have an opportunity to succeed! I look forward to meeting all students and families AND celebrating our collective successes during the 2022-2023 school year!
To our Students: We truly hope you all had a nice and restful summer! Coming back to school should be exciting as you are moving forward and excelling in your own journey of social and academic growth. We look forward to a year full of learning new skills, growing in character, and enjoying every moment of it - remember, a school should also be a place where you have fun, build friendships and make lifelong memories.
My ultimate goal is for each one of you to be empowered and given an opportunity to succeed in your educational journey. I will always be there for YOU to support and encourage you in anything that may benefit you and your families. Remember, we are all capable of achieving big things in life - the sky’s NOT the limit!
To our Families: I am looking forward to a very successful year, and I know you are too. We have high expectations for your child(ren) and we believe that with your support and collaboration, our goal will be accomplished!
One of my most important goals this year is to keep lines of communication open with you through phone calls, emails, and newsletters. Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions or concerns during the year.
Warm regards,
Mersad Imamovic, M.Ed.
