We are excited to welcome all of our families to Back to School Night on Wednesday, August 21. This evening presents an essential opportunity for parents and guardians to connect with teachers, learn about classroom expectations, and foster strong home-school partnerships that support children's success.
Schedule of Events
- 5:20 PM – PTA Meeting (MPR)
- 5:45 PM – Principal’s Welcome & Teacher Introductions (MPR)
- 6:00–6:30 PM – Classroom Session #1
- 6:30–7:00 PM – Classroom Session #2
The evening will begin in the Multipurpose Room (MPR) with a PTA meeting at 5:20 PM, followed by a welcome message from the principal and introductions of our dedicated teaching staff. Families will then have the opportunity to attend two classroom sessions, ensuring that parents with multiple children can visit multiple classrooms.
Why Your Attendance Matters
Research consistently shows that family engagement is one of the strongest predictors of student achievement and well-being. According to the National Education Association (NEA), students whose parents are actively involved in school events demonstrate higher grades, better attendance, stronger social skills, and increased motivation.
Back to School Night is a chance for parents to:
- Learn classroom expectations – Understand curriculum goals, homework policies, and daily routines.
- Build relationships – Meet teachers face-to-face, ask questions, and establish open communication channels.
- Support your child’s confidence – When children see their parents involved, they feel valued and more motivated to succeed.
- Connect with other families – Strengthen our school community by meeting other parents and PTA members.
Making the Most of Back-to-School Night
To ensure a productive evening, consider these tips:
- Arrive on time so you don’t miss key introductions and announcements.
- Bring a notebook to jot down classroom information or important dates.
- Ask thoughtful questions that will help you better support your child at home.
