• Three points of contact should be maintained and fall protection should be utilized when higher than 5 feet.
  • Employees involved should always be task trained before operation begins.
  • Hazards should be identified, and necessary mitigation procedures taken.
  • Make sure to tie off any time work needs to be done above 6 feet, or there is a chance that a fall could occur.
  • When lifting or hoisting heavy items with an excavator or fork lift, ensure that the straps or chains are properly secured and that there is no opportunity for them to slide off.
