High Quality Education When It Matters Most
Back to School is Right Around the Corner!

We are so excited to return to on-site learning in August! Here are just a few great things we have in store for TLC families in the upcoming school year.
  • Tadpoles - this two-way parent communication app will share daily activities, lesson plans, menus, and all sorts of important stuff about the educational experience and school information.
  • On-site and full capacity of 72 children - we are more than 75% enrolled right now and look forward to a full house of beautiful faces once again!
  • Volunteers are welcome back - we miss our sweet friends! TLC will once again have opportunities for meaningful volunteer roles in the classrooms. If you would like more information about our volunteer program, please email us by clicking here.
A Time of Transition for TLC

As an organization and a family, TLC looks to the future as we embrace a change in leadership. We are sad to say goodbye to TLC’s longtime Executive Director Ms. Judy Carter. For 20 years, Judy led our organization through tremendous growth. She implemented innovative programming that has deepened the services we offer children and families. For all of her hard work and dedication, we are grateful. The board and staff wish Judy all the best in her next chapter.

While we conduct a search, Mrs. Lizzie Carson, Program Director, and Mrs. Pamela Gray, Development Director, will continue to lead the organization to fulfill the mission and vision of TLC.
Summer Literacy program

This June, we offered for the very first time, a summer literacy program for children who receive speech and language therapy during the school year.

Through a collaboration with Charlotte Speech & Hearing Center and Smart Start of Mecklenburg County, we are addressing 'summer slide'. The goal is to make sure these hardworking students keep progressing towards their individual therapy goals. Meredith Laney, Speech Language Pathologist M. Ed. CCC-SLP of Charlotte Speech and Hearing Center, combines individual sessions, small group work, and classroom inclusion. We hope to make an even bigger summer splash next year!

And willing to keep walking,
Eventually, you will make progress."
