Feed People, Not Landfills

There are far too many people that go hungry in our community. Our agency is grateful to play a role in ensuring excess edible food is diverted to those in need. Alongside ReGen Monterey, we are excited to announce the renewal of our Edible Food Recovery Grant Program. The SB 1383 Edible Food Recovery Program – Grant Funding Opportunity, FY 23-24 intends to award a total of up to $90,000 to non-profit organizations, businesses, or public entities that collect, generate, and distribute food to those in need within the County of Monterey.

They will be this school year's voice for teens, facilitating on-campus environmental projects while learning & growing as leaders in their communities. Motor Oil Disposal

Knowing how to change our own car’s motor oil can be empowering, but what do we do with the used motor oil? The answer is - bring it to a certified collection center in your area! Motor oil is commonly found illegally dumped in public areas, but it couldn’t be easier to dispose of it correctly and for FREE at participating centers. Some waste haulers even allow you to leave used motor oil curbside next to your garbage container on pick-up days (check with your waste hauler or property manager first).
