August is National Welcome Back to School Month. Cradle to Career has been working diligently this summer to help our student be prepared for their next academic year. We are pleased to have partnered with the
Boys and Girls Club,
Rossco, and
Intempo to offer literacy support to students through our
Stamford Summer Literacy Initiative. Along with the Ferguson Library we were able to increase our support to Stamford Students and Out of School Childcare Providers by facilitating literacy-rich environments during camp. With the diligent effort of our Literacy Coaches and Coordinator we offered regular direct literacy support to over 100 students this summer.
SC2C also helped support transitioning High School Seniors better navigate their academic pathways in partnership with SPEF, RISE, SPS, and Norwalk Community College. Through this collective impact model, we have helped 73 students were directly support to help accomplish their post-secondary plan. We are pleased to have the support of our Guidance Counselors to serve as a trusted adult to our student during this commonly confusing transition.
Lastly as we gear up for another exciting school year, I am reminded of all the community support and partnerships required for us to serve the community. Stamford Cradle to Career would like to express sincere gratitude to some of our recent supports, Synchrony Financial, Pitney Bowes, Fairfield County Community Fund, Franklin Templeton and the New Canaan Community Fund. With your continued support the students of Stamford live a more equitable, accessible and accountable lives.
Best,
Edith Presley
