Diamond Hill Road and Douglas Pike Bridges over I-295, Cumberland/Smithfield
On Monday and Tuesday, expect left lane closures on Route 7 over I-295 to move steel barriers to protect the temporary water bypass we recently installed at the Douglas Pike Bridge. Crews will be working on Route 7 South from 6 a.m. to 3 p.m., and on Route 7 North, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. At the Diamond Hill Road Bridge, workers will begin to demolish columns at one of the piers and other work.

East Main Road Pavement Improvements, Middletown
Our weekday lane shift on Route 138 (East Main Road), with one lane open in each direction from Wyatt Road to Turner Road, continues Monday-Friday from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Over the next two weeks, we will complete the curb installation on the northbound side, loam and seed project wide, and begin to replace concrete sidewalk and curb at the intersection of Wyatt and East Main roads. Please use caution when driving through the work zones and expect delays.

Bridge Group 18C_R – Frenchtown, East Greenwich/ North Kingstown
Various lanes on both directions of Route 4, from Exit 5 to Exit 7, will be closed for overnight bridge construction at this project from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m., Sunday-Thursday nights, and shoulders only on Friday night (September 12.) Crews will continue to partially demolish then rebuild the substructure at the Devil's Foot Road Bridge and demolish the existing deck.

I-95 15 Bridges, Providence/Cranston/Warwick
Motorists can expect left lane closures for pile driving on I-95, from Park Avenue to Elmwood Avenue, and alternating lane closures for minor steel painting on Route 10, from Reservoir Avenue to the I-95 interchange, Sunday-Thursday nights from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. We apologize in advance for the noise associated with demolition of a portion of the Jefferson Boulevard Bridge, which begins on Sunday night, and continued pile driving within the I-95 median at the Huntington North Bridge.

I-95 North Viaduct, Providence
Various ramps will be temporarily closed for overnight barrier and guardrail installations and landscaping on both directions of I-95 at the Exit 37 interchange, Sunday-Thursday nights from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. Overnight abutment repairs and final striping on I-95, from Exit 36B (Point Street) to Exit 39A (Branch Avenue), will require alternating lane closures during the same time period. Please follow signed detours during all closures.

Route 37 Improvements, Cranston/Warwick/Johnston
Overnight alternating lane closures are scheduled for guardrail installation, lighting improvements and bridge construction on I-295 South, in the vicinity of Route 37, Sunday-Thursday nights from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. Overnight road and bridge construction will also involve alternating lane closures on I-295 North in the vicinity of Route 37, Monday and Thursday nights, and on I-295 North, from Route 37 (Exit 3A/3B) to Route 6 (Exit 9), Tuesday-Thursday nights from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. Crews also will make lighting improvements on Route 37 West, from Cranston Street to I-295 South, Thursday night from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. Weekday off-road construction and landscaping will be taking place with frequent vehicle access in/out of the work zone on I-295 North at the Exit 3A/3B off-ramps, Monday-Friday from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m., and barrier installation and sidewalk construction, with alternating one-way traffic on Cranston Street, below Route 37, Monday-Friday from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Overnight drainage work at this project, Sunday-Thursday nights from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. requires the nonconcurrent closures of the Route 146 North Service Road and Exit 18B off I-295 North, Route 146 South Service Road, and Exit 18A off I-295 South, Route 146, from Exit 8A to Exit 8C, with detours to the service roads, Exit 8A (I-295 North) off Route 146 North, Exit 8B (I-295 South) off Route 146 South and alternating lanes on I-295, from Exits 18A and 18B. School Street, Lincoln
Local access to businesses and homes on School Street has been maintained during the ongoing sewer and water main installations. The signed detour continues to lead motorists along its closed portion from Route 126 (Old River Road) to Main Street in Albion.

Tower Hill Road Bridge and Paving, North/South Kingstown
We’re nearly complete with this project. Next week, expect right lane closures and narrowed lanes with frequent vehicle access in/out of the work zone at the Routes 1 and 138 interchange, Monday-Friday from 6:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Crews will focus on general site cleanup, landscaping, electrical work and project inspection.

Warwick Corridor Project
Next week, we anticipate tying in the sewer and water mains across the I-295 bridge and paving east of and across the I-95 bridge. No lane closures are required.

Washington Bridge & I-195, East Providence/ Providence
Overnight bridge inspections are scheduled at the Washington Bridge, Monday and Tuesday nights, September 8 and 9, from 10 p.m. to 4 a.m. Motorists can expect up to two lanes closed along I-195 East on the bridge, Monday night, and on I-195 West, from Exit 1C to I-95, Tuesday night.
Upcoming overnight Structural Health Monitoring (SHM) work on I-195 East and West will involve up to two lanes closed on the Washington Bridge, Tuesday night, September 16, from 9 p.m. to 4 a.m.
Crews using boring equipment will be operating on both the Providence and East Providence shores next week, which is part of the initial design activities for the bridge replacement project. No lane closures are required for this work.
The approved in-water demolition work continues, Monday-Saturday from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. No work is currently planned after 6 p.m. to avoid any disruptive noise during evening hours. In accordance with CRMC guidelines, debris will be removed from the river as work progresses, placed onto barges and towed to land for transfer into trucks for offsite disposal. Temporary protective sheeting and turbidity curtains are in place.
