Here I go again - third time lucky!
OK, I've been using my Apple Watch for running, and actually wearing it more than I thought I would. I'm normally a Movado fanboy (I own a few of those), but I'm finding the bands on the Apple Watch are extremely comfortable. (I'm using the rubbery stock bands from Apple, as opposed to the leather or metal bands that my Movado watches have.
As an avid runner, I bought the watch to track my runs, as shown in the left hand portion of the graphic. That way, I can track my runs, as I usually record that info (where, when, time, and music played) in my calendar program. For what purpose, I don't know.
However, the hardcores in my running group look down upon Apple's contribution to this mess, preferring the Garmin for serious tracking. A quick look at the the two results (Apple on the left, Garmin on the right) shows a difference in two people doing the same run. Looks like I ended. my workout after my partner ended hers. As far as the distance discrepancy goes (love those alliterations!), perhaps the runners differered on the entire trajectory situation. Or perhaps I spaced out and forgot to "end" the workout in a timely manner.
Either way, it's close enough for rock n' roll, all I really need. For now. Things in the tech world move at lightning speed, so tomorrow's run tracking tech might be the end all, be all, the killer app that does it all. Who knows? Enjoy the journey, this is your life!
