Pottstown Play Streets
CHDC attended the Pottstown Play Streets event on Thursday, July 13 at Barth Elementary School! We had so much fun connecting with community members, sharing information about CHDC, and participating in some wholesome play. The Play Streets program temporarily closes streets to traffic in Pottstown neighborhoods and provides play equipment for children and offers educational information for parents about different community organizations.

Eat Fresh Cooking Classes
We are so happy with the turnout of our weekly EatFresh cooking classes. CHDC partnered with the Chester County Food bank to bring this impactful and vibrant program to our Coventry Mall office! The six-week series of cooking classes was offered in English and Spanish and provided participants with recipes, cooking tips, and a 20 pound box of produce at the end of each class! Participants were encouraged to try out their cooking skills at home and emphasized whole foods in their cooking. Catch a glimpse of the class here.

Take Action for 340B
CHDC is a community health center which offers affordable health care for the uninsured and underinsured.
There are many reasons why Americans might be without insurance while working. They could be gig workers, part time employees, freelancers, independent contractors, small business owners, or have insurance with poor coverage.
The Uninsured by the Numbers:
- Young adults between 18 and 24 are the most uninsured
- 1 out of every 7 kids are uninsured
- 1 out of 5 adults are uninsured
Access to affordable healthcare and medication is a priority to maintain a healthy community. That is why we need to protect #340B. This program allows health centers, like CHDC, to provide eligible patients affordable medications at low prices. #340B savings are reinvested in health centers to increase access to high quality care for patients in our communities.

Welcome to Kindergarten
It's time to register for Kindergarten at Pottsgrove Elementary for the 2023-24 school year!
This is a great time to schedule an appointment at CHDC to make sure your child is prepared for the upcoming school year.
Check these items off of your To Do List:
- Be up to date on immunizations
- Ask their care provider to fill out medical action plans (asthma action plan, seizure or diabetes care plans)
- Complete any health screenings

3D Screening Mammograms
Community Health & Dental Care and Tower Health have partnered to bring 3D Screening Mammograms to our Coventry Mall Pottstown, PA location. If you are due for your screening mammogram and would like to schedule an appointment, please call Tower Health registration at 484-628-8611. Please tell them you would like the CHDC Pottstown location.

National Immunization Awareness Month
NIAM highlights the importance of vaccination for people of all ages. In addition to the annual Flu vaccine, adults may need other vaccines based on health conditions, job, lifestyle, or travel habits. Children's Eye Health & Safety Month
This month, we focus on the importance of healthy vision, signs of vision problems in children, and ways to prevent eye injuries. Your child may not know they have vision problems.
