Now that I have your attention...I want to thank the membership for their trust in electing me and the new board to represent their interests. I also want to acknowledge the good work of our (now) Past-President, Debbie Baines, CCP, for the good work she did in focusing our Chapter on education and membership growth. It is the board's role to bring home the bacon for its members and we are dedicated to that task!
Our
Spotlight
today talks about staffing concerns about Generation Y. In
News from the Profession
we look at where Manitoba stands in the great big piles of government debt (spoiler alert: middle of the pack)!
Our Institute and Chapter exist to grow and promote Credit education in Manitoba and we have a lot of tools that can help you do just that.
So, how can the CIC help you bring home the bacon this year?

Generation Why?
Gen Y, the conundrum of today's workforce.
Really?
I have read all sorts of blogs and articles, listened to podcasts, attended webinars, about how to deal with Gen Y. Not because I am stuck on what to do with a young workforce, but because I am trying to figure out why I need to bother to do anything different at all.

NEWS FROM THE PROFESSION

Government Debt: Where Do We Stand?
The recent election focused some attention on Manitoba's debt. One side said that we have ample room to borrow and that our debt is manageable. The other side said that our spending is way out of control and we are headed into trouble.
So, where do we stand compared to other Canadian governments? According to this article, Winnipegers' share of the municipal, provincial and federal debt is $35,700 per person. Does this worry you?
Drop us a note and let us know!
