Badger High School Music Department Presents
Breakfast with Santa - the Drive-Thru Edition
Annually, the Badger High School Music Department hosts its Breakfast with Santa event. This year, the Badger Music Department doesn’t plan to let COVID ruin the holiday fun. They got creative and are hosting the Breakfast with Santa, drive-thru style! Families will drive the route making stops along the way to pick-up muffins and juice boxes, drop-off pre-written letters to Santa, give Santa a wave and grab two at-home craft bags. Throughout the entire route, families can tune in to FM107.01 on their radio to listen to Badger Music Department’s live performances.
The Music Department fundraiser takes place on Saturday, December 5, 2020, from 8:00 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. All donations collected support the Badger Music Department. The event will take place outside Badger High School. Enter the commons lot from Wells Street and follow the drive-thru route.

The change in weather and holiday season brings with it a time to reflect on the year thus far. Our students have persevered this fall as they’ve navigated changes to their learning environment, their athletic, theatre, and club activities, and their socialization. I met with representatives from the Student Council over the last few weeks and each one started by letting me know how appreciative they were of the efforts our teachers and staff have made to have high expectations and work through the technical issues of live-streaming classes.
Conferences are on for December 9, 4pm - 7pm. The format will be similar to the October schedule. Teachers will send out requests to sign up for a time slot that evening to meet virtually. You can also sign up for a time and then request that this meeting be in person with individual teachers. Due to the continuation of COVID-19, we are asking that the bulk of the conferences remain virtual.
Reminder to students who may be out due to quarantine, please remember that you are expected to follow your daily schedule and live-stream into your classes, participate in your classes, complete in-class activities and do the homework. The only tasks that can wait until you return are labs and hands-on activities determined by a conversation between you and your teacher.

FAFSA
As parents and guardians, January is your reminder to file your taxes. For the college bound student, this is a reminder to fill out the FAFSA form if you have not done so yet. FAFSA stands for the Free Application For Federal Student Aid. Any student looking to obtain federally funded grants and loans must complete the FAFSA in order to determine eligibility. Some students feel they will not be eligible for these types of aid and choose not to complete the form; however, keep in mind this form is sometimes a requirement in order to obtain additional scholarships and work study opportunities.
COURSE REGISTRATION
The online course selection will be done through PowerSchool and it will be available in February. After the online course selection window closes, any changes will need to be done by meeting with a counselor. The course guide will be handed out to students and available on the Badger website. Please reference that when selecting courses. Information will begin to come out through the month of January as to how students will go online and select courses.
SCHOLARSHIPS
Scholarships are becoming available on the Badger website in the Counseling section. The General Scholarship Application is due on January 8th. There are many scholarships that have due dates later this spring as well. Please be aware of the criteria when applying, what the specific due date is and where to send the completed application. Good luck!
WORK PERMIT
If a work permit is needed, please see Mrs. Ingersoll in the counseling center. You will need $10 cash, your social security card, and a letter from the employer stating that you will be working there. If Mrs. Ingersoll is not available, you can get a work permit from city hall.
