Students will primarily be accessing this program during their 35-minute Homeroom each Thursday. Along with BASE Education, students will also be utilizing an Academic and Career Planning program called Xello. The overall goal of Homeroom is

Minga Electronic Hall Pass

Beginning this school year, we will be utilizing an electronic hall pass system.  Goodbye to the days of wooden passes, pink papers and toilet seat cover passes!  Schools across the country have converted to this method of administering hall passes for students, in order to decrease the loss of valuable instructional time, and to increase building security, making it more manageable and efficient. Minga will help us foster a culture of safety, accountability and engagement. Badger students will access the Minga e-pass system via their school issued Chromebook. If you’d like more information about this new pass system, please click the link to access the Minga Family guide.  Both English and Spanish versions are available.

Students can add the Minga app to their personal devices to access their electronic ID for lunch, sporting events, and dances.  Minga does not utilize GPS technology to track students.

Picture Retakes will take place from 7:40 a.m. - 10:00 a.m. in the main gym on October 12.

Principal's Note

Welcome to the 2023-2024 school year!

Badger staff are ready to greet our incoming Freshmen and New Students on Tuesday, September 5th.  The entire day is dedicated to ensuring that incoming students feel engaged, welcomed, and knowledgeable about the workings of the high school by the end of the day.  All students start on Wednesday, September 6.  Our new start time is 7:35 am and the end of our day is 2:55pm.

This year we are continuing with our cellphone procedure that helps facilitate a focused learning environment in our classrooms.  Students may use their cell phones before school, during passing periods, at lunch, and after school.  During the class periods, they will be asked to place their cell phones in a holder central to the classroom.  If you do need to contact your student during class time, please call the office and we will deliver the message to your student.  The purpose of this procedure is to ensure that students are engaged in their learning and focused.

Badger is instituting an electronic pass system this school year.  The program runs best off of the school distributed Chromebooks.  If your student chooses to operate with a device from home, they may run into problems with this system.  Home devices also become problematic for State testing such as the Pre-ACT, ACT, and Forward testing as well as testing forms within the classroom.  If your student needs a Chromebook, please have them visit the Chromebook Corner in the Commons to receive their device.

We are excited about this school year and our commitment to create an environment that Engages, Educates, and Empowers our students, staff, and community.

Be Well -

Jenny
