Deadline: October 30
Badger seniors and community members can get free help completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) at a College Goal Wisconsin event being held at Badger High School on October 5, 2021, at 5:30 in the Badger High School Recital Hall. Financial aid professionals and other educators volunteer at the event to help students and their families complete the FAFSA. Anyone who is planning to pursue post-secondary education in the 2022-23 academic year should complete the FAFSA. That includes high school seniors, continuing college students, transfer students, and adult students considering pursuing higher education. The FAFSA is the form that must be submitted in order to be considered for federal and state financial aid including grants and loans. Students pursuing post-secondary education in 2022-23 can access the FAFSA beginning October 1, 2021. Please contact collegegoalwi@gmail.com if you have any questions.

Wonderful start to the 2021-22 school year

Welcome and Welcome Back!
We are off to a great start this year. The morning of September 1 found our staff outside greeting incoming ninth grade students and new to Badger upper class students. The class of 2025 enjoyed a day of getting to know their mentors, learning their schedule and meeting their teachers, and reconnecting with friends and beginning to know new ones. A highlight of the day was mentors sharing their Badger journeys and urging new students to get involved in clubs, sports, and activities outside of the classroom.

Teachers are elated to see students return to Badger. Teachers enjoyed a summer that included curriculum fine tuning and applying what they’ve learned from professional development opportunities to their craft. In this edition of our Newsletter you will find information on the new staff we’ve welcomed to the Badger family this summer. They are all accomplished educators who will add their voices to the quality education found at Badger.

Please take a moment to talk with your teen about the importance of school attendance. Just like in life, if you don’t show up each and every day it is very hard to achieve dreams and goals.

Class meetings are being held the second week of school. Our message is; “Get involved and high school can be the best four years of your life so far”. And as is our Badger norm, the Badger community will work intentionally to build relationships among students and between students and the Badger staff.

Please encourage your student to get involved in a club or sport this year. If they do not see anything online or in our student handbook that interests them please have them come in and propose their club ideas to one of the principals. Many of our clubs from bowling to GSA have had their start by student request.

Our staff is excited for what is gearing up to be a very good year at Badger. Please do not hesitate to call or stop by if questions and comments arise throughout the year.

Enjoy the year,
JStraus
