The Lake Geneva Schools Destination Imagination (LGDI or DI) is holding its open house nights on the remaining Mondays & Thursdays (not Thanksgiving) in November from 6pm to 7pm.
The DI building is located at W2358 Bloomfield Road (white building across from LG middle School)
LGDI is a volunteer-led, hands-on, in- person educational program. DI teaches 21st century skills and STEAM principles to K-12th graders through creative and collaborative problem solving challenges.
Please see attached Parent Flyer for more info.
Students need to sign up by 12/15/21 with the following link below or in person at the DI building! The earlier the student signs up the better!

Advanced Marketing students worked with Kristi Tarantino of the Lake Geneva Business Improvement District to pair up students with downtown businesses to create visual merchandising displays. Student groups received a grant to purchase supplies on the theme of It's a Wonderful Lake Life for this year. Displays will be up through the holiday season. Businesses worked with are Harbor Shores, Oakfire, Hannah's by the Lake, and Avant Cycle Cafe. Each downtown business has a themed window and people can vote for a winner.

Over the Thanksgiving break, I was reading an article in the On Wisconsin magazine about the future of technology in the home. One of the professors leading the charge is a professor of computer science, psychology, and industrial engineering. What a combination. This is the future of our work force - a diverse melding of different disciplines. Badger students are stepping into that world now. Through our Academies of Badger, students are able to chart their own course. Combining Badger, Advanced Placement, Transcripted Credit, and UW credit courses to create their own pathway forward.
In the next few months, students will sit down to select courses for next year. The Course Guide will be online for families and students to browse through to check out all our course offerings. In late January, students will receive a copy of this guide. Please be sure to sit down with your student and discuss future goals and how Badger High School can facilitate that goal completion.
For Seniors, the next few months will be a time to reflect on academic progress and stave off “senioritis” to finish strong. Universities are still watching as we head into the home stretch toward graduation. If your student is unsure of what path they wish to take after high school, please stop in or ask your student to stop in to make an appointment to see their counselor. They may also choose to make an appointment with our Gateway representative to discuss not only 2-year options, but the full gamut of post-secondary options.
On behalf of the Badger Staff, I wish you and your family a very healthy and happy winter season.

FAFSA
As parents and guardians, January is your reminder to file your taxes. For the college bound student, this is a reminder to fill out the FAFSA form if you have not done so yet. FAFSA stands for the Free Application For Federal Student Aid. Any student looking to obtain federally funded grants and loans must complete the FAFSA in order to determine eligibility. Some students feel they will not be eligible for these types of aid and choose not to complete the form; however, keep in mind this form is sometimes a requirement in order to obtain additional scholarships and work study opportunities.
CLASS REGISTRATION
The online course selection will be done through PowerSchool and it will be available during each class registration week. After the online course selection window closes, any changes will need to be done by meeting with a counselor. The course guide will be available online on the Badger website. Please reference that when selecting courses. Information will begin to come out through the month of January as to how students will go online and select courses.
SCHOLARSHIPS
Scholarships are becoming available on the Badger website in the Counseling section. The General Scholarship Application is due on January 7th. There are many scholarships that have due dates later this spring as well. Please be aware of the criteria when applying, what the specific due date is and where to send the completed application. Good luck!
WORK PERMIT
If a work permit is needed, please see Mrs. Ingersoll in the counseling center. You will need $10 cash, your social security card, and a letter from the employer stating that you will be working there. If Mrs. Ingersoll is not available, you can get a work permit from city hall.
CONGRATULATIONS!
In November, the University of Wisconsin - Whitewater held their seventh onsite admission at Badger High School. We would like to congratulate the four students that received admission into the university!
