Badger Theater Presents...
It's opening night of a brand-new mystery play, but just as the killer is about to be revealed, the body of the play's director falls onstage instead. In that moment, the theater becomes an active crime scene, and everyone from cast to crew to even the audience becomes a suspect. But how is the intrepid detective supposed to find the killer when everyone and their mother (literally) has a motive to want the demanding director gone? This Murder Was Staged is a fast-paced, backstabbing, backstage comedy that has three different endings! The audience will vote before the show each night and at intermission, the cast will find out which ending to use!

Dear Parents and Guardians,
May is an extremely busy time of the school year for our Badger Community. All of it is good news: Organization and Sports Banquets, Underclass Awards, Senior Awards and Scholarships, Advanced Placement Exams, Concerts, and so much more! During this busy time, I hope we all get a chance to pause and look around at the year in review. AND, to see through all the hustle and bustle to the joy and excitement that comes with the end of a school year. For our seniors, this is the beginning of the “lasts of the lasts” and a time to savor years well spent in our school buildings.
As I write this letter, our ProStart Culinary Team is heading to the National competition in Baltimore. The Administrative team has enjoyed so many Walking Parades this year in celebration of our students and their accomplishments in activities, academics, and athletics. There is so very much to be proud of as a member of the Badger Nation.
This time of the year can also come with some stressors. To assist with working through this time without getting overwhelmed, I’ve asked our Hope Squad for some advice on how families can help their high school students manage end of the school year stress that can come from studying for final exams, saying goodbye to friends, and so many other sources.
Hope Squad Advice to parents/guardians:
- Be their cheerleader. Support and encourage your student in their school-work. Show genuine interest in what they’re learning. Always offer an encouraging word.
- Create a schedule. Having a set schedule or routine could take some stress off your student and help them better manage their time. Come up with a schedule together that includes a balance of study time, downtime (such as participating in activities they enjoy, socializing with friends, etc.), and family time. The key here is not to overschedule.
- Ask questions that align with your family’s definition of success. If you only ask your student what grade they got on a test or in a class, they will believe that grades matter most. If that isn’t your family's definition of success, try asking questions such as, “What did you learn today?”, “What did you do with your friends?” or “How do you feel about your day? Why?”
-
Show unconditional support and love. Through your actions and your words, let your student know that they are loved no matter what. Though stress in school is normal, especially as the school year wraps up, take action if you suspect your student may be overstressed or if their stress is causing depression or other mental health illnesses. Hope Squad: Wellness Today
This is an exciting time in the arc of a school year or high school years for our seniors. Please take that moment to savor these memories in the making. I look forward to seeing you at the events this month AND the culmination of four years of hard work - Graduation on June 9th.
Warm Regards,
Jenny Straus

Direct Admit
We have exciting news!! The Direct Admit Wisconsin program is launching in 2024 for the Badger High School graduating class of 2025! Direct Admit Wisconsin is an initiative by the Universities of Wisconsin to proactively offer admission to qualifying high school students in between their junior and senior years of high school. Direct admission removes the traditional application process and instead uses data provided by the high school to admit students to universities.
You may be wondering, how can I be eligible to be a part of this Direct Admit Program? Well, you must be enrolled in a participating school district and opt to participate in the program. Then, if you are on track to complete the credits required for admission – 4 units of English, 3 units of approved math, 3 units of social science, 3 units of natural science, and 4 additional academic units – you will receive an admission offer through Direct Admit Wisconsin. Each participating UW university has its own GPA and course requirements. Students are matched with participating UW universities using progress towards graduation, whether they are on track to complete the required credits for admission to the Universities of Wisconsin and their unweighted cumulative GPA. Check the Direct Admit website to view participating Wisconsin Universities and gather more information!

Parchment and Transcript Requests
All students who are looking to order a transcript should make sure that they have an account set up through Parchment.com. If you have not already done so and are unsure about how to set up an account, you can stop by the Counseling Center to grab some printed instructions. If you are ordering a transcript before June 13th, please select the “hold for grades” option before placing an order.
Schedules for the 24-25 School Year
All students will be receiving their 2024-2025 Class Schedule at the end of July. Please make sure you are checking your mail as students will have 1 week from the time the letter is sent to make any necessary changes.
