If a student is released early from their activity, they must wait in the Union until their ride arrives or the late bus departs. Students may NOT roam around the school at any time.

Buses will run Monday through Thursday at 4:30PM and 5:45PM. On Fridays, one bus will run at 5:45PM. Students must have a pass from a teacher or coach to ride the late buses.

New Support Program: Check-In/Check-Out (CICO)

We are excited to announce that Badger High School will implement the Check-In/Check-Out (CICO) program starting in Quarter 2 of the 2025-2026 school year. The CICO program is designed to increase positive classroom behaviors, boost internal motivation, enhance positive adult feedback, and promote accountability for both students and staff.

Students selected for this program will benefit from increased communication between home and school, helping to support their success more closely. Families will be notified individually if their student is nominated. We look forward to partnering with you to create a positive and supportive learning environment for all students!

If you have any questions or would like more information, please contact Lisa Kendall, Gen Reed, Tana Kubly, Craig Ladd, or Abby Rouce.

Student Illness Guidelines

When to Send Your Child to School or Keep Them Home

At Lake Geneva Schools, we know that regular attendance is key to academic success! Being in class daily helps students build strong habits, stay engaged, and gain valuable social skills. However, we also want to maintain a healthy, germ-free learning environment.

Use this guide (https://bit.ly/healthyLGS) to help decide when your child should attend school or stay home to recover. If your child has a fever over 100.4°F, vomiting, or diarrhea in the last 24 hours, it's best for them to rest at home. For minor symptoms like a runny nose, if there’s no fever, they’re ready for class!

When in doubt, contact the school health office, and let's work together to keep everyone healthy and learning!

Driver Education Grant Program

Driver Education Grant Program

Wisconsin DMV continues to develop the relaunches of the Driver Education Grant program with funding approved in the 2025-2027 biennial budget. Portions of this funding have begun to be released in a quarterly fashion.

The Driver Education Grant Program provides grants to cover driver education tuition costs for 30 hours of classroom coursework, six hours of observation, and six hours of behind-the-wheel training for eligible students on a first-come, first-served basis. Students who qualify for free or reduced lunch through the National School Lunch Program, have not previously held a driver’s license, and who are between 14.5 and 19 years old may apply for the Driver Education Grant Program.

Students, parents, and all those who may be interested in a notification closer to the time of the launch can sign up with their email at: Wisconsin Department of Transportation Driver Education Grant Program.

Scholarships

We are currently in the process of confirming scholarships from our community, and Seniors will be getting emails and announcements as scholarships become available. The Badger General Scholarship Application will open on December 1st in the Scholarships area of the Counseling webpage. Please do your own research for scholarships as well, there is a scholarship for almost anything out there! Please pay close attention to due dates and where to turn in scholarship applications.

Never pay when searching or applying for scholarships! You can use FREE resources like Scholly - now on Sallie Mae's website - to help navigate what scholarships you might qualify for! You can sort through thousands of scholarship opportunities based on award amount, your state of residence, intended majors, who the scholarship is directed towards, etc. https://www.sallie.com/scholarships/scholly

College & Post-Secondary Planning

Attention Seniors: Now is the time to work towards your plan for the future. College application deadlines are beginning to approach, and it's important to stay organized and proactive. Whether you're considering a four-year university, community college, trade school, military service, or entering the workforce, having a clear post-secondary plan will set you up for success. Remember to research your options, prepare your application materials, and keep track of important deadlines for admissions. Don't hesitate to reach out if you need help with college essays, understanding financial aid applications like the FAFSA, exploring career pathways, or navigating direct admission opportunities.

Please make an appointment with your school counselor if you would like to discuss your future! We are happy to support you every step of the way throughout the post-secondary process. Your future starts now - let's make a plan that works for you!

If you've received Direct Admit offers or messages from Wisconsin colleges and universities, don't let these opportunities slip away! Check your email regularly and follow up on any direct admit communications you've received. These can be excellent pathways to college with a streamlined and simplified application process.

Requesting Transcripts

If you are in need of your Badger High School transcript, you will need to request a copy of your transcript through Parchment.com. All you need to do is register for a free account and then you can send your transcript wherever needed. Parchment will allow you to send 2 transcripts for free, and each request after that is about $10 per transcript (reflecting Parchment's price increase, starting December 16th, 2025). If you’re feeling like you need some extra help, stop down to the Counseling Center to pick up some instructions or check in with your Counselor.

Career and Technical Education

Gateway Technical College presented a certificate celebrating the 886 Badger students who received transcripted credit last year. In 2024-2025, our students have saved $422,825.44 in college tuition! Congratulations to the Badger Transcripted Credit teachers and their students!

Mrs. Samantha Ingo, Badger's Career & Technical Education Coordinator, accepted the certificate. If you are interested in learning more, contact her at samantha.ingo@badger.k12.wi.us today!

COMMUNICATION PROTOCOL

Whom do I contact with a question or suggestion?

Lake Geneva Schools’ communication protocols help promote direct, open, and respectful interactions so that we can quickly and efficiently resolve problems and concerns. The communication protocol starts with the staff member closest to the situation, as that person usually has the most information. However, at times, additional personnel are required to resolve specific concerns. Click here for more information and to view the Lake Geneva Schools Communication Matrix.

TEXT ALERT SIGN UP

Lake Geneva Schools has the ability to use SMS (text) messaging as another communication channel to share important information with families and staff regarding school closures or changes to the school day schedule. Federal law requires recipients to opt-in to receive such messages.

How can I opt-in to receive text messages?

📱Text the word “YES” or Y to 67587 from each wireless device on which you wish to receive texts.

📱Confirm that all text device numbers you wish to receive messages on are listed in your contact information: Families – verify that your cell phone is your primary phone number in your PowerSchool parent portal.
