Modern Market Criterium and Intergalactic Single-Speed Championships

On Saturday, Colorado racers got a taste of something different -- a new course, and a Single-Speed Fixie division, not to mention the free lunch and unique prizes. Big kudos to the Modern Market team for stepping up and doubling their promotions effort by bringing us a new race. By all accounts, a great time was had by all. Jared Thaut, shown on the top podium to the right, was the race director of the event, but couldn't resist also winning his own race. Great Job, Jared, and thanks for all the hard work.

And, of course, to top it off they had a fixie category. Did you know that on those bikes you can't stop pedaling? People need to hear about this. Oh wait, we have two velodromes in Colorado. Nevermind :)  So, Congratulations to the top three in  the SS division:

1. Scott Piercefield (Sonic Boom)
2. Matthew Eberly (Primal Audi)
3. Michael Giem (Tierra Plan)

If you would like to share your thoughts on the race so that we can all take it up another notch next year, please take a moment fill out the racer survey.

State Track Champions Take the Stage

This last week, the BVV had plenty of championship action. Thursday was the men's points race, with Colby Pearce taking a close victory from Kevin Selker. Also going for a championship were the women's scratch racers, with Rachel Plessing just beating Mindee Stevenson to the line. See the results here

On Saturday, Time Trial Championships were held and 11 track records fell to the hard charging riders. Check here for full results of the riders and their times. Congratulate the following riders for riding away with the coveted state champion's jersey:

Julie Emmerman
Matt Gates
Sarah Fader
Aaron Miller
Lucas Clarke
Chet Henry
Kevin Nicole
Dawn Orwick
Dana Feiss
Henry Winterbottom

Attention BRAC Cyclo-cross Riders
With the new CX season starting tomorrow in Golden, this is a good time to remind everyone to check a couple of things:

1.Make sure that your BRAC membership is current
2. Check your profile to make sure you have the correct CX team listed. If you only have one team, then that is not much of an issue, but you can have a different team for different disciplines, and making that change is often forgotten.
3. If your team is incorrect, please contact Yvonne, not USA Cycling.
4. Club/team directors, make sure your BRAC team is currently a member if you want to participate in the cup series. Remember, no points are retroactive, so if your riders are not listing your teams correctly, we cannot go back later and give them retroactive points.
5. Current BRAC clubs can be found here
Upcoming Events

It's back and it's bad. It's cross and we're glad!  The season is upon us. You know that cuz we're heading to Golden for the B2B CX series once again. This year has a little twist to it -- There is NO  day of  registration! If you want to race, you have to register online by noon the day before.

One of the best parts of the B2B series is that Inspired Training hosts workshops every week to teach you the ins and outs and ups and downs of CX. There is a different topic each week. Check out the flyer for a description of the program and the weekly topics.

Road racing is still going on in Golden. Wow, Golden really is the place to be these days. You have your pick of disciplines. Check out the flyer

Thursday night racing still going strong at the BVV. This time it is also the Madison State Championships. This is always an exciting event to rider or watch.

The Track State Championships just keep coming and coming. This weekend is for those that feel the need for speed -- the Sprint Championships. See the flyer for more info.

Just in case you had any doubt, the DFC crit is a crit, and not a circuit/road race. This is a 0.9 mile course. See the flyer for full details. It is also the last criterium of the road cup this season.
