The recent Chanukah Chagiga was certainly one of the most memorable in recent years. The event was packed with two years’ worth of energy, as COVID prevented the school from hosting the annual event last year. The simcha was palpable, and the ruach was electric. Highlights of the evening included inspirational words from Rabbi Yaakov Frand and entertainment from our own ASL and guitar classes. The fun spilled over into the next morning as the celebration continued. Individual class parties were also celebrated, with every grade sponsoring its event filled with fun and delicious food. May the brightness of the Chanukah lights continue to warm us through the winter.
TRUE TO THEIR WORD
Discovery Friday programs have been centering this year on the theme of Emes in thought, speech and deed. Rabbi Yosef Berger of Kehilas Kol Torah presented a thorough and interesting talk that delineated the “Where...What…When” of Emes in speech. The Rav’s clearly spelled out guidelines and colorful anecdotes made for both an interesting and illuminating presentation that both educated and inspired the school in this central aspect of Torah living.
I-LIMIT MOMENTUM MOUNTS
There is no limit to I-limit excitement. A recent after school event brought out hundreds of students who have decided to make healthy control of technology an important focus in their lives. The food was scrumptious and the panel included both teachers and alumnae. The ideas generated sparked great interest and renewed commitments among the students that will hopefully last way past the program’s formal life. Thank you to the faculty members who have made this matter a priority and have given so much time and attention to the program.
GEDOLEI YISROEL DEBUT
Gedolei Yisroel finally had an opportunity to present their exciting breakout to the school. Using an original format, the group presented a stunning set of portraits of some of the greatest leaders of recent times, with incentives offered for students who will learn more about Torah giants over the course of the year, or read a biography of one Torahgreat.
CHAYEI MISHPACHA SERIES BEGINS
Chayei Mishpacha is off and running. This Twelfth Grade intersession program presents the senior class with an array of classes on subjects that will be engaging the students as they forge ahead into adulthood. These include talks on dating, shalom bayis, kollel living, tips for successful interviews, and much more, with both prominent outside guests and Bais Yaakov faculty offering the classes. We are looking forward to an exciting and stimulating program.
