LAG BA'OMER FESTIVITIES IN BAIS YAAKOV
For the second year in a row, we had the pleasure of having our very own Rabbi Aaron Gross and Mr. Lenny Attman join us for our Lag Ba'omer activities. For many years, Mr. Attman and his family have generously sponsored refreshments and activities for this special day in memory of their mother, Mrs. Ida Attman - Chaya Feige bas Yechiel Eliyahu, A"H . As her son described, Lag Ba'Omer was her birthday and since she had no daughters of her own, Mrs. Attman considered Bais Yaakov students - her surrogate daughters. Mr. Attman is continuing this fine tradition
and honored Bais Yaakov with his presence.
PRESCHOOL ZOO TRIP
We had a beautiful day this past Thursday when our
Preschool went to the
Baltimore Zoo to see all the different types of animals. We thank all the
moros and parent chaperones who joined us for a glorious trip. Everyone, young and old, had a great time. Thanks to Mrs. Trout and Mrs. Wolf for coordinating all the many details to make this a memorable outing. Throughout the year, we strive to give the children the opportunity to exercise and go outside for recess in the back tot-lot. This trip underscored our efforts to promote healthy outdoor activities for all our students.
FIRST AND SECOND GRADE RELAY RACES
The girls enjoyed an array of different relay races on
Lag Ba'omer. Please check out the video clip and feel the pulse of our school

"OTTO THE AUTO" VISITS THE PRESCHOOL
Once again, the
Mid-Atlantic Foundation for Safety and Education's popular program for young pre-school children "Otto the Auto", came to Bais Yaakov on his annual visit. Standing three feet tall, the remote-controlled talking vehicle can blink his eyes, turn on his headlights, and spin in circles while engaging our children in fun and memorable traffic safety activities. Otto teaches children the importance of buckling up, wearing bicycle helmets and looking all ways before crossing the street.
FIRST AND SECOND GRADE SCIENCE SHOWS
Mrs. Shaina Segal and her Wow Science Shows are the talk of the school. Courtesy of our vibrant PTA, our first grade young scientists are being exposed to seed dispersal. This isthe movement or transport ofseeds away from the parent plant. Plants have very limited mobility and consequently rely upon a variety of dispersal methods. This hands-on show was very well received, informative and interesting. Second Grade budding scientists were introduced to propulsion. They learned the difference between planes and rockets and what is needed to get into space.
