PRESCHOOL SEFER BEREISHIS SIYUM
Excitement was in the air as the Nursery celebrated the completion of Sefer Bereishis with a grand siyum! They enjoyed a plethora of Parsha-themed treats and reviewed all of the Parshiyos learned thus far. The girls (and their moros) are very proud of their accomplishments and are very excited to continue on their Torah journey!
KINDERGARTEN SHABBOS UNIT
The Kindergarten continues to learn about the special mitzvos we do for Shabbos. Our students learned that we welcome Shabbos when our mothers light the candles and that this is one of the special mitzvos for women. The girls decorated a beautiful hadlakas neiros frame with a picture of their family, tea light holders and tzedakah boxes to use at candle lighting time.
HABITATS
Our Nursery girls are learning about different habitats to understand makkas arovMorah Adena Weinberg's class made three different habitats (ice, dessert and jungle) and sorted animals into them. They discussed the nature of each type of environment and then took the animals on a march to Mitzrayim!
EXPLORING BRACHOS
Our First Graders have just completed a unit on hoadamah and began their unit on shehakol. We incorporate delightful activities to inspire them to be excited and proud of their brachos. The students learn to figure out which bracha they need to say based on the type of food they are eating.
SINGING IN 2B
Our students begin their afternoon singing patriotic songs. The girls in Miss Esther Shapiro's class mastered their geographic knowledge of the Atlantic Seaboard states with a song. They enjoyed mastering facts through singing.
MATH + GRADE 2 = FUN
Much of our attitude towards math is shaped by our experience in elementary school. To help reinforce our math lessons, while having having fun at the same time, many of our lessons are taught with games.
Mrs. Emily Feinberg’s class played War with cards made from math problems. Mrs. Chana Ciment's class has a box full of fun and challenging math games. Whether playing Addition Scoot or I Have Who Has, as a class, or in smaller groups, math has become exciting and fun.

SOCIAL SKILLS PROGRAM
WITH MRS. RACHELL TAJERSTEIN AND MRS. LIBBY KRAFT
Our weekly social skills lessons reinforce the the girls’  middos tovos from Nursery through Second Grade. With a focus on positive peer interactions and through discussion, role playing, and the use of our charming puppet friends,  our youngest students are learning strategies that help them in relationships with others. The girls are eager to participate in the lessons and practice the skills they are learning.

The girls are taught to identify and explore their feelings in an effort to create self - awareness, as well as sensitivity to others. We are grateful to our parents who have been sending in notes sharing how their daughters demonstrates these skills at home.
