10 Cheshvan 5777 / November 11, 2016 Parshas Lech Lecha
The Bais Yaakov Upper Elementary School began the year with lots of
excitement for learning and growth in our caring for others.
Enjoy the highlights of our first month in school.
Moros of our 3rd, 4th and 5th grade classes each prepared a creative
andbeautiful project for each of the girls to decorate and hang in their Sukkos. Each project represents hours of planning and preparation on the part of each Morah to assist their students in creating these masterpieces.
ELECTION DAY 2016
Here in the Bais Yaakov Elementary School on Election Day, November 8, we also had our own 2016 Election, prepared, setup and successfully ran by our Fifth Grade students. We had over 776 student participants voting in the election for President, Mayor of Baltimore City, and City Council Person for the 5th District. The winner for President was Mr. Donald Trump and Mr. Mike Pence receiving over 76% of the popular vote!
The Koach Hadibbur (Power of Speech) - School Wide program began with a S.N.A.P. - Speak Nicely and Politely. Morah Neuberger and the other Moros presented the 'Ripple Effect' of saying a nice word. The girls learned, that when we say nice things to a someone, that person will be more likely to do the same to someone else. The girls will be given opportunities throughout the next month to earn Speak Nicely and Politely tickets that they can collect and turn in for prizes.
SEEN IN OUR HALLS
Rabbi Stein has various bulletin boards throughout the building. The students' favorite one is the Scattergories Board. This past week over fifty girls participated in Rabbi Stein's Weekly Scattergories Game Bulletin Board. Each girl who joined throughout the past six weeks received a prize and those that achieved the Hebrew challenge got special recognition!
