GRADUATION IN THE PRESCHOOL - IT IS TIME TO SAY SHALOM!

It is that time of year again when we have Preschool closing activities and bring our students along to the next level. We are so proud of their accomplishments and we love hosting parents and grandparents in our building. We hope to bring much nachas , mazel and hatzlacha to all of our students and families as they blossom and grow.
LAG BA'OMER FESTIVITIES IN BAIS YAAKOV

For the third year in a row, we had the pleasure of having Mr. Lenny Attman  and Rabbi Aaron Gross, our Director of Development, join us for our  Lag Ba'omer  activities. For many years, The Attman Family has generously sponsored refreshments and activities for Lag Ba’Omer in memory of their mother,  Mrs. Ida Attman - Chaya Feige bas Yechiel Eliyahu A"H . As her son described, Lag Ba'Omer was her birthday and since she had no daughters of her own, Mrs. Attman considered Bais Yaakov students her surrogate daughters.

INSTILLING STUDENTS WITH A LOVE FOR PIRKEI AVOS

Being able to express our thoughts and feelings with sayings from Chazal , helps build a sense of connection to our Torah. We have encouraged our students to learn and memorize these teachings through stories and songs. We hope the girls will learn from these mishnayos to act with derech eretz . Our Second Grade made and decorated cups with some of these lessons.  We hope the girls will enjoy using them over the summer!
THE PIED PIPER

Mrs. Debbie Alper’s Second Grade Reading Group produced a magnificent play with scenery, music and flute accompaniment about The Pied Piper . This was an experience which harnessed the girls’ reading skills and introduced them to the art of drama! The girls performed their lines beautifully with great stage presence.

BAIS YAAKOV DEVELOPS PROMISING YOUNG READERS

We were so excited to conclude the  Second Grade Reading Program  for this year with our  "Read Your Way to a Cookie Party!"  Our bulletin board in the Second Grade hallway is filled with hundreds of cookie stickers. Each cookie represents a book that the girls have read. On average, each student read five books. Congratulations!

At the Cookie Party we enjoyed a phenomenal presentation by  Mrs. Bracha Goetz , a local noted children's author, who encouraged our students to think of ideas and capture them in writing. The girls then had fun decorating their cookies with icing and colorful toppings. Their creativity was magnificent!
We ask all parents to encourage your daughters to continue reading over the summer. The focus of the Second Grade reading program fostered increased fluency, accuracy and improved comprehension skills. Please keep it up!
