THIRD GRADE SHMONEH ESREI CELEBRATION

A highlight of the year in Third Grade is the students learning the words and meaning of the Shmoneh Esrei . They learn how to daven and what each word and bracha means. The moros also teach the girls a special tune for each one of the nineteen brachos that coordinates beautifully with the words of the tefilla to allow the girls to connect with Hashem in a personal way. This past month, all the Third Grade classes joined together for a celebration upon completing mastery of the entire Shmoneh Esrei . Together with the ice cream sandwiches and treats, we were honored to hear wonderful stories and encouragement from Morah Chana Eichorn from the Middle School who is also Bryna’s (Class 3C) mother! This excitement around tefilla creates a solid foundation to the girls’ relationship with tefilla and with the Ribbono Shel Olam .
FOURTH GRADE TZEISCHEM L'SHALOM DESSERT RECEPTION

On May 29 th , the Fourth Grade students celebrated the end of their tenure at Bais Yaakov Elementary with a beautiful dessert reception, with many mothers and grandmothers in attendance. The event took place at the High School and the entire room was transformed into a gala ballroom with fancy cakes, fruit and treats. We were honored with divrei bracha and a wonderful, positive message from the Rosh Yeshiva of Yeshivas Keser Torah, Rabbi Tzvi Mordechai Feldheim . The partnership between the Moros and the parent volunteers was apparent and highlighted our ongoing drive to work collaboratively with our parent body to achieve success for each of our talmidos . Enjoy the audio MP3 of Rabbi Feldheim’s words on the power of Persevering Through Challenges by clicking on this link .
BOOK CLUB

The Third and Fourth Grade reading group teachers encourage the students to read throughout the year with Book Club incentives culminating with grand parties celebrating their individual and collective accomplishments! The girls read thousands of books including non-fiction, Judaic, Biographies, and many more. The girls shared their favorites and had a great time.

THIRD GRADE TRIP TO LAKE ROLAND PARK

The Third Grade enjoyed a fabulous trip to one of our local nature parks: Roland Park . The students and teachers searched for plant life and animal life they studied within their science curriculum this year and had a fun time with their friends and teachers. We thank the many parent volunteers who came along to chaperone the trip!
FOURTH GRADE VISITS THE MIDDLE SCHOOL

As our Fourth Grade prepares for the next phase of their Bais Yaakov career, we arranged, together with the Middle School, a delightful trip over to Smith Avenue. Rabbi Hexter shared a great message on the power of Privileges that come together with Responsibilities! Rabbi Engelsberg also shared his own personal adventure of moving from one school and country to another and how he is confident that the girls will all feel welcome and at home in the Fifth Grade with the warmth and care that the moros and teachers provide there. The girls were able to participate in the Fifth Grade “How to Fair” and they all had a great time.
