DIGITIZED KUMZITZ

Thank you to all the Second Grade moros who continue to inspire their students with a Zemiros Shabbos Kumzitz before every Shabbos Mevorchim. The kumzitz consists of singing and learning new zemiros, followed by an exciting story told by a morah about the upcoming month. Although we could not gather together physically as a grade due to Covid, all 7 classes simultaneously join in enthusiastically. Morah Chaya Bracha Waldbaum led the singing remotely and the zemiros were followed by a meaningful story told by Morah Brachie Kosman.

ART

This year, art classes are being conducted online with videos, in addition to in-person instruction. For the month of Cheshvan, the Second Grade art activity for each class featured Kever Rachel commemorating Rachel Imeinu’s yahrtzeit. Morah Debbie Weintraub designed, prepared, and guided the girls to complete the project. She helped each class put all the individual pieces together and formed the most beautiful finished product! Morah Devorah Goldstein created a beautiful bulletin board for her 1C class in honor of Rachel Imeinu.

ROSH CHODESH KISLEV - HOPPING LATKES!

The Preschool enjoyed a sizzling Rosh Chodesh! We can not wait to use potatoes to make latkes on Chanukah! We prepared the girls for latkes by conducting potato sack races in the Auditorium and by giving every preschool girl a fun potato sack to use for jumping, like latkes in a pan!

SCHOOLWIDE PROGRAM

Our annual schoolwide program takes center stage in our lobby every year and inspires our decor. It helps the children focus on the message which we convey through images and pictures, imparting a subliminal message every time staff members or students walk through the lobby. With Corona on everyone’s mind, we must recognize the Ribono Shel Olam's role in everything that happens. The program is dedicated l’iluy nishmas Yehoshua Ben Yitzchok HaLevi A”H, who lived his life with this attitude. We salute Mrs. Judy Neuberger’s selection of these stunning photos to convey this message.

SAFETY IN THE GYM

Watching the girls exercise in the gym shows how much fun girls are having while maintaining social distancing and wearing masks. Our youngest students have been magnificent masking and making it look so easy. We cannot thank the PTA enough for selling blue BY mask chains and making it exciting to wear; it has taken off, and PTA has sold out selling 500 necklaces.

PARENT LOCKER

Over the past 18 months, the preschool and elementary grades have deployed numerous modules from our student information system, ParentLocker. Besides its internal daily office usage with student demographics, we have now added the report card, conferencing, and admission modules to our repertoire. We have heard many positive responses from parents regarding the use of Parent Locker over the past eight months of Corona.

We look forward to streamlining all forms of communication between home and school with this product. At the same time, we remain steadfast in our commitment to support families who choose not to use the internet by offering alternate communication forms. We acknowledge Mrs. Molly Horwitz for researching this software and recommending it for our school.
