Wishing you a Happy Chanukah
A SPECIAL CHANUKAH GIFT FROM MRS. DEBBIE HAGER-KATZ
In addition to the wonderful treats and special activities during the week of Chanukah , each child in the Preschool was gifted with a cuddly donation from Mrs. Debbie Hager-Katz . She lovingly dedicated 250 teddy bears in memory of her mother, Rebbetzin Yehudis Hager Z”L and her brother, R’ Zvi Dov Hager Z”L .  The girls were delighted with their special gift and are working on a special thank you card for Mrs. Hager-Katz. We are so grateful for the donation and daven that the neshamos of her mother and brother should have an aliya .
CLASSIC CHANUKAH FUN IN THE THIRD GRADE
Our Third Grade had a unique opportunity to make dreidels out of clay. The girls had a fun time smoothing out, carving, and shaping their clay into dreidels that they then were able to play with. They also enjoyed decorating doughnuts and of course eating them as they built memories about the Yom Tov that will last.
FOURTH GRADE SHINES ON CHANUKAH
Our talmidos in Fourth Grade steer the way in Chanukah excitement. After Hallel each day, a student has the special opportunity to share a Dvar Torah with the entire Upper Elementary Division. Then, the Fourth Grade classes lead the whole auditorium in singing Maoz Tzur and other Chanukah songs. Additionally, each day the moros and teachers arrange many fun Chanukah activities that directly relate to their limudim and studies both in the morning and afternoon classes.
SINGING HALLEL WITH THE GENERATIONS
We enjoyed a very special time on Wednesday as over 50 mothers and grandmothers joined our Hallel assembly. Following Hallel and the Dvar Torah , Morah Esther Feldheim’s class performed a beautiful song and poem on the importance of praising and thanking Hashem during these days of Hallel and Hoda’ah . This joining of generations is the hallmark of our school as we prepare our future to emulate our past during this Yom Tov of Chanukah .
CELEBRATING WITH OUR MOROS
We thank each morah who prepared a beautiful Chanukah Party in school or at their home. This small venture makes an everlasting impression on the neshamos of our girls.
CHANUKAH AT THE
RABBI BENJAMIN STEINBERG MIDDLE SCHOOL
Chanukah excitement filled the Middle School as classes enjoyed exciting and fun Chanukah parties in teachers’ homes and in school. The Yom Tov spirit was palpable everywhere thanks to the extraordinary efforts of our dedicated teachers! One class decorated the entrance lobby with handcrafted menorahs and dreidels . Another class had a special Chanukah Scavenger Hunt. A third class turned old books ready for recycling into beautiful, giant paper dreidels .
The Fifth Grade began an exciting Chanukah program called Project C.L.I.C. : C onnecting L ife I n the days of C hanukah. The program began with a warm, special treat of muffins and hot cocoa together with words of chizuk from Rebbetzin Reizy Eichenstein . The 6th Grade had an assembly for Project Yud Beis focusing on the midda of hakaras hatov and making special thank you mugs. The 7th grade had class Chanukah parties followed by extraordinary dreidel excitement. And the 8th grade held a breakfast Yom Iyun featuring inspirational speaker, Mrs. Chana Lavi , who spoke about her passion for fashion and how she chose to pursue her new dream of raising her family. The girls participated in a fashion show modeling different tznius sensitivities which brought home important lessons in a fun way.
The Middle School held its annual teacher appreciation Chanukah luncheon. Principal Rabbi Naftoli Hexter addressed the teachers and thanked them for all the hard work they do all year for their students... mehadrin min hamehadrin ! Mr. Moshe Dov Shurin , Bais Yaakov’s Vice President of the Board, highlighted the teachers special role in teaching and inspiring ruchniyus . He personally thanked all the teachers, both Limudai Kodesh and Limudai Chol , for being outstanding role models for the girls. The food and good cheer were flowing as teachers got the chance to socialize and enjoy the scrumptious catered event.
Weeks of hard work and planning reached their climax as the Chanukah Chagiga committee regaled the school with a magnificent display of royalty at the BYMS annual chagigos . The room was majestically set up as a grand palace fit for a king. The students and teachers played a very fun game of Kahoots with exciting prizes. The dancing was very leibidig and full of ruach as teachers and students danced up a storm together.
