BYC'S 10TH ANNUAL LIBRARY FUNDRAISING CAMPAIGN

This past summer Bais Yaakov Day Camp held their tenth annual fundraising campaign for the benefit of the elementary school library.    This idea was initiated many years ago by Mrs. Kruger when she ran the day camp. It started as an activity over the 9 days, for children to have access to reading books during the summer while at the same time doing something to help the school library.  It has continued thanks to Mrs. Ribakow and Mrs.Grunhut.     In exchange for a week of pre-school library activities that Mrs Abramovitz, the school librarian,  "donates" to the day camp, the camp donates earnings from its summer auction to our library.    Each summer  between $600-$750 is donated, and this summer the amount was $750.    The funds are being put to very good use at the library and each volume paid for by the day camp has a    "Donated by Bais Yaakov Day Camp" sticker placed in it.    We are very grateful to  Bais Yaakov Day Camp  for this fund raiser.  May our children continue to benefit from our library and the over 8,000 volumes in circulation.

EXCITING NEW PROGRAM IN THE MIDDLE SCHOOL
An exciting new development in the middle school curriculum this year is the addition of a drama course instead of art in the 7th grade. Mrs. Sara Gross, who has 20 years of experience directing and writing plays, will be teaching the drama course. "We'll be working on many exercises that teach the students how to excel onstage, such as character development,  articulation, team work, and pantomiming. We will conclude the course with a small play performed by each class. We are looking forward to a tremendously exciting new experience!"
GOING PLACES WITH THE HIGH SCHOOL G.O.
G.O.  תשע"ו/5776 began with an exciting opening activity. The dedicated presidium presented this year's G.O. theme "Going Places". The ruach in the air was palpable.  This Monday, the high school will I"YH be going on an opening G.O. trip to Skateland. The students will be leaving school at around 9:45 a.m. and are scheduled to be back at 12:00 p.m. in time for general studies classes.
