Dear Baker families,
While news around the coronavirus (COVID-19) is rapidly evolving, we wanted to take a moment to share preventative measures Baker has established in order to ensure that our school remains healthy and safe.
Our school nurse and leadership team are monitoring information from the CDC and the Illinois Department of Public Health. We are also in close communication with District 39 and our fellow independent schools on the North Shore in order to best determine how to address health concerns that arise and ensure that we remain current on the best information and resources available.
We are taking great care to minimize the spread of all viruses by doing the following:
- Students are being encouraged to wash hands frequently and to cover their coughs and sneezes.
- Families need to take great care to keep children at home if they have symptoms of a fever. As a reminder, children need to be fever-free for 24 hours without medication before returning to school.
- Our school custodial team is diligent in their regular, ongoing and proactive cleaning and disinfecting of common surfaces.
While the Illinois Department of Public Health has noted that the risk of infection to Illinois residents remains low, the safety and health of our students remains our highest priority. We ask for your continued partnership in reducing the spread of all communicable infections.
We are linking resources that you might find helpful:
- For those who may travel over spring break, please review travel safety guidelines as outlined on the Center for Disease Control website.
Thank you for your partnership in keeping our school community safe and healthy. Please do not hesitate to contact us should you have any additional questions or concerns.
