A Message from Chris Snyder, Principal

October 16, 2020

Dear Bakie Families,

We are actively preparing for in person learning to begin on October 26th and are excited to have many students return to our classrooms. At the same time, teachers are planning for remote learning as well. The schedule that students have grown accustomed to will need to change somewhat. Be on the lookout for communication from classroom teachers in the coming days as those schedules are finalized.

Please also be prepared for the fact that several practices and procedures may change or be implemented during this time. Coexisting with COVID-19 is complicated, and we ask for your patience.

At this time, transportation to/from school is the next big piece of the puzzle to solve. Salter Bus Company making plans for the return of students. They need any family that is planning to have their child(ren) ride the bus this school year, either to or from school, to complete this form and give them the information they need to prepare safe rides for students. If you do not fill out this form, the bus company will assume your child is not taking the bus.

The district recognizes that some bus routes are longer than anticipated due to the limited seating restrictions created by COVID-19 protocols. Once this survey data is complete we will adjust routes accordingly with the goal of reducing the amount of time our students spend on the bus.

Thank you for taking the time to read through the many emails from the district. We are doing our best to create the safest possible environment for our students as they return to our building.

Chris Snyder,
