Total Solar Eclipse Experience at Bald Knob Cross a Success!

With over 750 people in attendance, the viewing of the Total Solar Eclipse on August 21st could not have been any better! Although it was hot, hot, hot, we had a perfect viewing experience of this incredible phenomenon.

Eclipse guests seemed very grateful for the experience, and comments like this have continued to keep coming in:

"Thank you and your organization for a thoroughly enjoyable eclipse-watching experience. Our adult family of four was so impressed with the professionalism with which you carried it off, particularly since you couldn't possibly have had any prior experience. The event was so well-organized and everyone was not only extremely helpful but friendly as well." ~ T. Moore.

It took over 100 volunteers to create this experience - so we'd like to give a giant THANK YOU to all that helped make this event successful!

Allegiance Trio
Thank You to the
Allegiance Trio!

A great big THANK YOU to the Allegiance Trio for their performance on August 31st.

They were absolutely amazing and exceeded all our expectations for the evening. It was a great blessing for the over 200 people in attendance.

A free-will offering was collected from those present, and all proceeds were given to Bald Knob Cross. Thanks again to the Allegiance Trio and First Baptist Church of Anna!
Open House - Saturday, September 30th, 2-4 pm

Open House This year has been a tremendous year for completion of several projects that have been "in the works" for some time. Thanks to some very generous donations of funds, time and skills, we are excited to celebrate these projects and would like to offer you the opportunity to come visit and see for yourself.

You've probably read about each one of these as they have come to fruition -- the history panels inside the welcome center, the electrical line connection, which allowed the poles and above-ground electrical lines to come down off Bald Knob Mountain, the new observation deck on the South side of the welcome center, upgrades to entrances to hillside parking, the restoration of the old bunkers and now, still in progress, the creation of history panels for the bunkers, along with directional panels and 'The Salvation Story' panels that will occupy one whole bunker.

More improvements could be mentioned, but we hope you can come take a look at the Open House on Saturday, September 30, 2:00-4:00 p.m. Great fellowship, refreshments, music and hospitality awaits you. Come see us!!

Did You Know...?

That we already have requests from people who want to attend the 2024 eclipse at Bald Knob Cross? How amazing it is that we are going to have this event twice in 7 years, and that we are at the crossroads both times!

Most Current Needs

Dependable pickup truck - older model fine, just needs to be in good running condition. We often have to borrow a pickup truck to haul large recycling loads, small equipment to and from vendors for repairs, etc.

Welcome Center Volunteers - We have a great cadre of volunteers that donate a multitude of hours to host the welcome center, and we need additional people so we can be open 7 days per week. If you can give a few hours per week or per month, or would just like more information about what is involved, contact Teresa at director@baldknobcross.com.
