Most Current Needs

Our most current need at Bald Knob was mentioned in prior newsletters is a 4 or 5 foot bush hog, cost is approximately $1,000. We are thankful that we have a volunteer who plans to bush hog a large section of the property in the next couple of weeks, which is so very appreciated. Hopefully we will find a donor soon so we can purchase a bush hog and then be in a position to keep some additional areas of the property cleared. If you are interested in supporting this project but cannot provide the total cost, we will certainly hold your donation until a full purchase can be made.

Thank you in advance for your support!

paver locater boxI am delighted to announce that our new Paver Locator box is complete, and installed at the base of the cross! This has been a long time coming.

This box contains a notebook with the names of all the purchasers and the inscriptions on all the bricks that have been laid in the Paver Memorial Garden. They are arranged alphabetically, so if you have purchased a brick, and you need help locating where it has been laid, you can find it in the book, and easily be able to locate it at the base of the cross.

We hope you will find this a great service the next time you visit the cross! If you would like information on purchasing a brick, take a look here

Best wishes, Jeff

We are sad to report that our Caretaker, Jeff DePaola, has decided to return to Blue Ridge, Georgia. We so appreciate Jeff's time with us, and he will be missed. We wish him well and hope he has the opportunity to come back and visit! We will share information about a new Caretaker with you very soon. Thanks to all the 'extra hands' that are pitching in to keep us going strong during this transition.
Volunteer Spotlight

Larry Gilbert Meet Larry Gilbert - one of our 'behind the scenes' volunteers. Larry serves as Senior Pastor of the United Methodist Church in Murphysboro, and provides amazing support in areas of light construction, maintenance, and repair. Recently Larry built the Paver Locator box that now stands at the base of the cross, providing a great service to visitors who have purchased a brick.

Thanks, Larry, for all you do!
