CALLING ALL CANDIDATES

Baldwin County's Clyde Jones is Running for US Congress...

...Maybe You

Should Run for Something, Too

Has the voice ever whispered in the remote recesses of your mind?

“Maybe I should run for something……”

Then Mr. “Yeah but” chimes in. How would you ever raise all that money? Where would you find the time? Anyway, you're nobody. You have to be somebody important to run for office.

But sit with that other muted voice for a minute. Then come sit with us in a room full of people who have heard the whisper as well.

The advent of the holiday season also marks the season of campaign recruitment for next year’s midterm elections. Baldwin County Democrats are fielding candidates for state representatives, state senate, four county commissioners, three school board members and a sheriff. The qualifying and filing period for most offices -while the date to qualify for state offices is scheduled to be set by the the Alabama Democratic Party in a couple of weeks - is most of the month of January.

Our goal is to have Blue choices in as many of those ballot slots as we can. Baldwin County Democrats will be offering campaign support and partial financing. All proceeds from T-shirt sales and other fundraising efforts will go to fund state and county candidates in Baldwin County races.

We’re organizing a couple of casual chat sessions where folks who have ever entertained a passing thought of running for office can learn some answers to those “Yeah but” questions. Coming to one of these meetings is not a commitment to run for anything. It’s just a pleasant evening to spend time with our campaign managers, some candidates who have recently run in Baldwin County elections and our county leadership team.

Please check out the list of ballot slots waiting for a Blue candidate in the Guide to 2026 Baldwin County Elections below and think if there’s one you might fill. We will be scheduling meetings for potential candidates early in December, sign up in the election guide below. You don't have to have your mind made up about running to join us.

Could You Donate Office Space?

We're planning an exciting midterm election season! We're working to put as many Democratic choices on state and local ballots as we can and we're looking for a temporary headquarters we all can call home.

But office space can be pricey and we need to use all our money to support the heroic candidates who step up to fight for Democratic values.

Do you or anyone you know have a vacant office space or house you may be willing to share with us for a few months starting late next summer?

Please email bcdchair@baldwindemocrats.org if you may be able to help.
