MAINBALLARD - VOTED SEATTLE'S BEST NEIGHBORHOOD!

Curbed Seattle has officially announced Ballard as the winner of the Curbed Cup 2017 Best Seattle Neighborhood. Thank you to everyone who voted during each bracket. The final match up was between Ballard and First Hill and started out as a close race. Our neighborhood narrowly lost the final round last year to Columbia City and we were determined to take the cup this year. Rumor has it First Hill is demanding a recount. Okay, that was a joke, because after the final tally 57% of the votes went to Ballard.

Our neighborhood does have great things like the homemade Diagon Alley, Tractor Tavern, Hattie's Hat, The Water Wheel, Ballard Smoke Shop, Bop Street Records and Sonic Boom Records, as referenced in the  final article. But what the article failed to mention, is that Ballard is the greatest neighborhood because of the people. It is the residents, business owners, hard workers and their ability to come together as a community that makes our upper-left corner of Seattle the best year after year.
MAINALLIANCE EVENTS IN THE NEW YEAR
null
The Ballard Alliance will be revamping some of our program offerings in an effort to provide all of our members better opportunities to connect and engage with the community.

Our first Ballard Alliance luncheon this year will be held Upstairs at Stoup Brewing on Wednesday, January 17th at 1:30 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. The program will kick off promptly at 1:30 p.m. with a delicious box lunch from Other Coast Cafe and move into our speed networking activities.

We have listened to your feedback and wanted to continue the conversations in a more relaxed setting at a happy hour social immediately following the main program.

We know the speed networking luncheons are a great way to connect with people and now you can keep networking and in a relaxed setting over some deliciously crafted Stoup beverages. Space is limited so please register as soon as possible.
  • Umpqua Bank Ballard branch has a fun evening planned for you at the January 2018 Ballard Alliance After Hours. Enjoy refreshments and great company at this free networking event on Thursday, January 25th from 5:00 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. Please be sure to RSVP so our hosts are able to provide the right amount of food and drinks.
  • One of the main questions we receive from our members is, "how do I become more involved in the Ballard community?" We have created a program to answer that question and help you "Get Plugged Into Ballard". The Ballard Alliance is partnering with Sustainable Ballard to host this event that offers our residents, business owners and their employees a chance to meet one another and learn more about the ways in which they can become more involved and engaged in the Ballard Community. Please join us for an evening to mix, mingle and share a pint with your neighbors and local non-profits on Tuesday, January 30th, 2018 from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. Upstairs at Stoup Brewing. The event will connect  some of our great local non-profit groups with residents and those individuals looking for ways to become more involved in the Ballard neighborhood. This event is made possible by our generous sponsors: All the Best Pet Care, Stoup Brewing, FIT 36, Visit Ballard and Lime BikesThere will be a complementary beverage for the first 100 guests, snacks and DJ Lovinz will be spinning 80's music all evening.

Art2FEELING LUCKY? LUCKY ENVELOPE RELEASES PEANUT BUTTER CREAM STOUT and
BUDDHA'S HAND IPA THIS MONTH

Here is something to cheers about. Our friends over at Lucky Envelope Brewing have brewed up some special beers to start 2018 off on the right foot.

This month, Lucky Envelope Brewing will be releasing their Peanut Butter Cream Stout and Buddha's Hand IPA.

Our Peanut Butter Cream Stout has real peanut butter infused into our seasonal Cream Stout. The rich, peanutty flavors play beautifully with the chocolate, roast, and caramel notes of the base stout backed by the mouthfeel provided by added lactose. This delicious stout comes in at a smooth 6.0% ABV and 34 IBUs.

Buddha's Hand IPA is a limited release IPA brewed with aromatic Buddha's Hand Citron and is only available around Chinese New Year. Coming in a 6.6% ABV with 70 IBUs, the zest from this uniquely shaped fruit is intense and reminiscent of fresh cut lemon and crushed lemon candies. As we approach February, be on the lookout for our Chinese New Year Celebration announcement!

Lucky Envelope Brewing serves you your favorite Culturally Inspired Beers throughout Seattle and in their Ballard Neighborhood Tasting Room at 907 NW 50th Street, Seattle, WA 98107.
