Our Ballard
A1 Alliance Programs and Events
The Ballard Alliance is preparing for an eventful season ahead. Businesses are stocking up on treats for Halloween in Ballard, t he holiday tree lights are almost ready to go live and we have contacted the North Pole requesting a visit from Santa at Ballard HolidayFest but there is much more in the works.

On Veteran's Day, November 11th, we have an action packed Ballard ArtWalk. Our next Alliance luncheon on November 15th  will focus on gratitude with special guests from the Millionar Club Charity. On Black Friday, Ballard businesses are putting a spin on the shopping holiday with Ballard Gives Black Friday, where a portion of their profits go to the business's favorite charity. Families can follow the Tomte Trail to Ballard HolidayFest in Bergen Place Park on November 25th, which is also Small Business Saturday.

Is the calendar in your brain overloaded yet? Here is a list of the events for you to add to your planner:

Barry Barr , President
KAVU

What is your favorite aspect of owning a business in Ballard?
To me Ballard is one of the most special districts in Seattle. Ballard Ave is an amazing diverse shopping and restaurant district. I also feel so connected as my Great Grandfather settled in Ballard after coming from Iceland.

What makes Kavu unique?
KAVU is born and bred in the Northwest. I have always set out to design and develop products that fit in with our NW lifestyle. KAVU is also a company that "sells fun". We do not take our selves too seriously and we believe in making the most of every day.

What do we want people to know about our business?
KAVU is an acronym for the perfect day. Founded in the Pacific Northwest in 1993, KAVU stands for Klear Above Visibility Unlimited. But, as catchy as it sounds, KAVU is much more than just the name of our company.  KAVU is a philosophy, a perspective,  and a way of life that revolves and doing what you love in nature's playgrounds.  From deep Cascade wilderness to a walk at Golden Gardens, KAVU is "true outdoor wear" crafted to be your first pick in the morning.

What is our favorite place or thing to do in Ballard?
Our local company happy hour place is the Shelter.  We just love what Kevin and Trinette Carlson treat all our staff and guests like family. The Ballard Locks never get old to me and I take all my out of town clients there for a nice walk.  Conor Byrne is where we do all our company gatherings and I love going to the Grog (back bar at the Annex) to eat and have a nice time.

FUN FACT FOTO
Toot toot for a touchdown! Did you know that the boat owners watching the Seahawks game at Shilshole Bay Marina honk their horns when the Seahawks make a touchdown? Have you ever heard them? Salty Dawgs like Rory thinks it is a great way to celebrate.
