April in Ballooning
On April 25, 1783, brothers Joseph and Etienne Montgolfier conducted a successful ballooning experiment that helped shape hot-air balloons as we know them. Following the success of lifting a 3-cubic meter balloon into the air using heat, the duo experimented with an 800-cubic meter balloon. The aircraft was successfully raised 400 meters off of the ground by heat. Read more about this feat, here:https://ballooning.es/uk/hot-air-balloon/history.php
