New episode alert! A view from Lift-Off Lane, Balloon Fiesta’s official podcast has released a new episode! The current episode includes an interview with balloon pilot, Ray Bair, who has flown special shape balloons, and is a past president and current board member of the Balloon Fiesta Board of Directors.

Balloon Fiesta tickets for the 49th event will be available for purchase on July 2, 2021. Tickets for general admission, Park & Ride and Balloon Fiesta hospitality programs will launch at 9:00 a.m. MDT. Details for health plans and COVID-19-safe practices will be released prior to tickets going on sale. Below are pricing details:

Merchandise Update
New pins are making their way to Balloon Fiesta’s Gift Shop! During the middle of July, all new versions of the 49th event pins, will be available for purchase. Last year’s collectible pins were labeled as the 49th version and included the year that they were produced, 2020. This year’s artwork features a fun spin on the unique year that 2020 was, and are labeled with 49.5 edition, with the year 2021. Keep an eye out for these pins and shop for them once available at

We’re also excited to announce that Balloon Fiesta’s gift shop will be reopening to the public on July 1, 2021. Stop by to purchase these pins and other Balloon Fiesta merchandise, Monday – Friday between 9 and 5 p.m. MST.
Inside the Basket
During Sam Robey’s first balloon ride, he proposed to his girlfriend. Now, nearly 30 years later, he will pilot a balloon at Balloon Fiesta for the first time and she is his wife and crew chief.

In this month’s Inside the Basket, Sam shares more about his ballooning story and what he is most looking forward to about experiencing Balloon Fiesta as a pilot.
June in Ballooning
On June 23, 1994, Michio Kanda of Japan set the distance world record for AX-14 type balloons. His flight took place in Australia, launching in Mullewa and landing in Frome Downs. Kanda traveled a total of 236,610 kilometers (1,470 miles) during his flight. This record still stands.
