A Call to Action: Banning the Bag in Massachusetts

Plastic pollution problem - Sea Turtle eating plastic bag polluting ocean

W2O is asking members to call on their state representative and urge passage of a statewide plastic bag bill. More than 80 communities in Massachusetts have already passed a local bag ban. The statewide bill is sitting in the House Committee on Ways and Means and this is our last chance to pass the bag bill this legislative session. Please reach out to your state representative and ask them to get on board.

Ask lawmakers to vote for the bill, H.4324, An Act Reducing Plastic Pollution. W2O has joined with more than 200 organizations to sign a letter in support of the bill.  Please call or write today!

W2O Goes to Washington

W2O members stepped up at the March for the Ocean in D.C. this month. With our partners in ocean conservation, W2O urged Congress to support science-based policy decisions. Ocean health is essential for our own health, and we need to speak for our blue planet.  W2O will continue to advocate for healthy oceans with future trips to Washington!
