CONCERT BAND 
Forgot Your Form? Call Elite Tuxedo!
Elite Tuxedo has informed us that many band students were fitted for tuxedos but did not have order forms or payment methods. If your student was fitted for a tuxedo, but did not have a form, please call Elite Tuxedo as soon as possible, to confirm that you want to rent a tuxedo (or not). They need to know how many of these rentals should be processed.

Concert Dresses
If your student was fitted for a Concert Band dress, you will soon receive a personal email asking you to confirm the dress style and size, and whether you would like to buy a new dress or borrow one of the dresses we have in the Band Room.
Music Center Spotlight Applications
Honor group applications for the Music Center Spotlight Program are now open - the deadline is October 15, 2018. Spotlight is a FREE Performing Arts Program for high school students, with cash scholarships, master classes, workshops, and more! Click here for more information.  Jazz

Thursday:  7-8 am am and 4:30-7:30 pm
Friday:  NO AM rehearsal ! Loading for football game after school; 5:45 pm call time on the JAMS lawn for 7 pm football game

Gigs are optional and can count towards volunteer hours! Interested students just need to tell Mr. McKeown.

Saturday:  Samohi Alumni Picnic Gig 11:45 a.m. call time (approx. ending time: 1 p.m.)
"Wonderland" T-Shirt Pre-Orders Due This Friday
When the shirts arrive, those who pre-ordered (either online or at the Sept. 4 meeting) will be able to choose a V-neck or crewneck t-shirt in the size they ordered. Click here to order online.
Rose Parade Honor Band Applications Due Oct. 1
Positions in the Pasadena City College Tournament of Roses Honor Band are available to high school students! The online application must be submitted along with a printed, mailed form, with a postmark no later than October 1, 2018. Click here for more information or to apply.  WE

Travel Insurance
Thanks for getting your commitment letters and first payments turned in! A few reminders: no travel insurance will be purchased as a group; no refunds will be granted after January 1; any refund request made on or before Dec 31 will be granted at 50% (this is tour company policy, not SAMOHI Band policy). For more details, refer to the Rome Tour Letter.
 
If you are interested in purchasing your own travel insurance, Exclusively Italian - the tour company we are using - recommended the following three travel insurance agencies: Travelex, Allianz Travel Insurance, AXA Travel Insurance (Platinum). Feel free to do your own research, as well. As mentioned at the Band Parent meeting last week, some travel insurance companies require that you purchase policies within 14 to 21 days of first travel payment. If you are planning to purchase travel insurance, you should look into options quickly, and reach out to Janie Docter or Jennifer Raymond if you need any documentation to support your purchase.  Donate
