Pops Concert: Senior Photos and Statements Due May 10
This call goes out to all concert, marching, and jazz band seniors: It’s time to go through your old photo albums and choose one baby/early childhood photo and one recent photo to include in our 2019 Pops Concert Program and slideshow! Email photos to
samohiband@gmail.com.
Senior photos must be submitted no later than
Friday, May 10, to be included in the Pops program.

THIS LINK to submit a Senior Statement for the Pops program. You can either use the form at the link to automatically generate a statement (number of years in band, etc.), or you can write one of your own.
Last BPA Meeting Moved to Thursday, May 16
Please take note: Our next and last Band Parents Association meeting of the year will be on a Thursday instead of on a Tuesday:
Thursday, May 16, at 6:30 pm, location TBD (but most likely in the band room!).

Please Return Concert Black Dresses by May 10
If you are borrowing a dress from the bands and NOT returning to a concert band class next year, please return your dress to the clothes rack inside the band room no later than
Friday, May 10. Please make sure your name is somehow attached to the dress.
Note: Concert black dresses are
not required for the Pops concert on May 21.
If you will be in a concert band next year, you may keep the dress until you leave the band program.
Kiwanis Auditions This Wednesday
The Santa Monica Kiwanis Club Music Scholarship Competition will hold preliminary auditions this Wednesday, May 1, after school in the band room. A signup sheet has been posted in the band room. Accompanists are not required for the preliminary round.
Auditions will be evaluated by adjudicators from outside the district. Students who pass the preliminary round will be invited to compete in the final round on Tuesday, May 14.

Please Return Borrowed Dinkles by May 10
Borrowed Dinkles are due in the band room no later than
Friday, May 10. Please CLEAN your shoes (use baby wipes or water with mild soap; Windex and other mild spray cleaners work, too). And if you can, please return the shoes inside the blue drawstring bag that they came in!
