Pops Concert in One Week!
Our last concert of the year is next
Tuesday, May 21. Buy your tickets now for the fun and playful Samohi Band Pops Concert, with a tribute to our outgoing seniors. Hear your favorite tunes from Star Wars, Willy Wonka, The Little Mermaid, Pirates of the Caribbean, E.T., Harry Potter, Phantom of the Opera, A Star Is Born, and much more!

BPA Meeting & Party This Thursday, May 16
Our last Band Parents Association meeting of the year will be this
Thursday, May 16, at the home of outgoing BPA President Alisa Stewart. There will be cupcakes, adult beverages, and a vote on our BPA 2019-20 board.

A Festival and a Show This Weekend
The Samohi Jazz Bands hav
e two back-to-back shows this weekend.
Super Jazz Fest
at West Ranch High School (26255 Valencia Blvd, Santa Clarita, CA 91381) on Saturday, May 18.
Parents are welcome to attend!
Jazz Bands Spring Concert
at Catalina Bar & Grill (6725 Sunset Blvd. Los Angeles, CA 90028) on Sunday, May 19, at 1 pm. You can purchase tickets at

Percussion Workshops and Auditions
The percussion workshops are continuing every Friday after school from 4-6 pm. The Viking Marching Band also has the following audition schedule:
Front Ensemble Auditions: June 6, 4-6 pm, Band Room
Battery Auditions: June 7, 4-6 pm, Band Room
Drum Major Auditions: Friday, May 17, after school
Color Guard Auditions: May 29, 4-6:30 pm
Instrument Return/Repair
Students who are graduating (or not continuing in the program) and who use school instruments must return them by
May 24 (the Friday following the Pops concert). Please return them to Mariam Kaddoura so she can check them off the inventory and clear them from the obligations list.
May 24 is also the deadline for students who would like to swap to a different instrument or send in their instrument for repair. Please direct any questions to Mariam Kaddoura at
mkaddoura@smmusd.org.
