Pops Concert This Tuesday
All five bands will perform in the Pops Concert this Tuesday, May 21.
Please note that the concert starts at 6:30 pm. Come early for the concert cafe, with food, drinks, and dessert for sale.

Dress Code and Call Times
Musicians can wear either concert dress or nice dress clothes in springtime colors (think pastels for dresses, suits, shirts, and ties).
Call times: 6 pm for Mr. Sakow's bands and 6:15 for Mr. McKeown's bands.

We Need You! At the Concert Café
Can you bring a dish or drinks? Can you help set up, clean up, or serve? We'd love your help — join the coolest families in band at our last Concert Café of the year.

Tuxedo Pickup Tuesday Set for Tuesday, June 4
Elite Tuxedo will be picking up tuxes from the band room on Tuesday, June 4. Students may bring in their tuxedos to the band room any time prior to Tuesday, June 4, and hang them on the clothing rack.
Please return tuxedos in the Elite garment bag with your student's name on it. Make sure all five pieces are in the bag: jacket, pants, white shirt, bow tie, and cummerbund. Elite may charge you for missing pieces.
If students do not return their tuxedos to the band room, they must return them directly to the store in Westwood.
There are no late pickups at Samohi.
Again: there are no late pickups at Samohi. If someone does not return his tux to Samohi by June 4, bringing it to Samohi after June 4 is like throwing it away. No one will ever find it at school, and the student will be charged to replace it.
Students who perform at Samohi graduation will be informed by Mr. Aiello what they need to wear. No tuxedos needed.

This Friday: Instrument Return/Repair
Students who are graduating (or not continuing in the program) and who use school instruments must return them by this Friday,
May 24
. Please return them to Mariam Kaddoura so she can check them off the inventory and clear them from the obligations list.
Friday is also the deadline for students who would like to swap to a different instrument or send in their instrument for repair. Please direct any questions to Mariam Kaddoura at

The percussion workshops are continuing every Friday after school from 4-6 pm. The Viking Marching Band also has the following audition schedule:
