Thank You, Volunteers!
We couldn't have enjoyed such a special night for our seniors, our audience, and all of our performers without the help of many volunteers. Please click on the graphic to see all of their (your) names! You keep our extraordinary band program humming!
Directors' Gifts
Thanks to your generosity, the Band Parents Association was able to give each of our band directors $2,000 in cash as well as a small gift that was presented at the concert. Mr. McKeown received a set of nesting dolls featuring Russian composers, and Mr. Sakow got a custom-made tray with the Samohi Band logo on it.

2019-20 Viking Marching Band Field Show
The Vikings will march into another strong season as a 4A band with
"The Bard," a new show based on the writings of William Shakespeare.
A dramatic swirl of comedy and tragedy, love and friendship,
"The Bard" will make Shakespeare's work come alive with quotes from the Bard and the music of Gilbert and Sullivan, John Mackey's "This Cruel Moon" (in its marching band premiere!), Tchaikovsky's "Romeo and Juliet," and Shostakovich's "Festive Overture."
"If music be the food of love, play on."
— William Shakespeare, "Twelfth Night"

Tuxedo Pickup Set for Tuesday, June 4
Elite Tuxedo will be picking up tuxes from the band room on Tuesday, June 4. Students may bring in their tuxedos to the band room any time prior to Tuesday, June 4, and hang them on the clothing rack.
Please return tuxedos in the Elite garment bag with your student's name on it. Make sure all five pieces are in the bag: jacket, pants, white shirt, bow tie, and cummerbund. Elite may charge you for missing pieces.
If students do not return their tuxedos to the band room, they must return them directly to the store in Westwood.
There are no late pickups at Samohi.
Again: there are no late pickups at Samohi. If someone does not return his tux to Samohi by June 4, bringing it to Samohi after June 4 is like throwing it away. No one will ever find it at school, and the student will be charged to replace it.
Students who perform at Samohi graduation will be informed by Mr. Aiello what they need to wear. No tuxedos necessary!
