Viking Marching Band Wins 5A Division at Valencia & Savanna
|
|
For the fourth and fifth times in a row, the Viking Marching Band captured first place in the 5A division for band and color guard at their comps at Valencia High School on Thursday and at Savanna High School on Saturday.
Now the Vikings are headed to the
SCSBOA marching band championships this Saturday at
Warren High School, 8141 De Palma St, Downey, CA 90241. Look for an email with a detailed schedule, coming soon. We are very, very proud of all our band has accomplished this season. GO VIKINGS!

Wind Symphony Tour Parents: Come to Our Bands at the Broad Planning Meeting Nov. 18!
Please come to our planning meeting on
Monday, Nov. 18, at 7 pm, and let us ply you with wine and snacks while we discuss
Bands at the Broad, an important fundraiser that helps provide scholarships for band tours like the upcoming trip to
San Francisco and Sonoma that our
Wind Symphony students are taking this March.

All-State Applications
All-State/CBDA recordings will be due to Mr. McKeown by Wednesday, November 27, via Google Drive. When he picks the top 20 students to submit, each of them will be given a code to upload their music and scales through the CBDA online system, which will close at 11:59 PM on December 2, 2019.
Read auditioning/recording guidelines here.
If you receive a code from Mr. McKeown that allows you to submit your audition, you will need to pay a $55 student fee. And if you are selected for an honor ensemble, you will pay CASMEC a participation fee of approximately $450, due in mid-January.
Jazz musicians: You will submit your recordings directly. Please talk to your teacher for more details.
