ALL BANDS
Winter Concert This Tuesday!
Featuring Concert Band (Period 5), Symphonic Band (Period 3), Symphonic Winds (Period 1), and the Viking Marching Band + Color Guard

Come see the wonderful work your students have been doing at the Winter Concert THIS Tuesday, January 15, at 7 pm in Barnum Hall. Concert Café starts at 6 pm, so come early, go inside and save your seats, then enjoy a pre-show dinner with your family!

Band Yearbook Photos on Wednesday
All band students need to bring their concert attire to school on Wednesday for group photos, which will be taken during your student's band class.

Bands at the Broad in Just Three Weeks!
Featuring Wind Symphony (Period 2) and Wind Ensemble (Period 4)

Join us at the 7th Annual Bands at the Broad benefit concert and auction on Tuesday, February 5, starting at 6 pm. Invite family and friends to the beautiful Eli and Edythe Broad Stage for a special night with a cupcake and wine bar, silent auction, and a performance by Wind Symphony and Wind Ensemble.

Bands at the Broad raises money for the Samohi Band touring program.
How Can I Help?
• Buy a ticket! Buy two! (All Samohi Band students get in free; plus we offer a free student ticket for every adult ticket purchased)
• Donate a bottle of wine (valued at $30 or more) for our wine raffle! (Contact Liz Comay for wine pickup/dropoff)
• Solicit/donate an auction item! We'd love gift certificates or items from local merchants, lessons and experiences, vacation home stays, anything you can offer. (Contact Liz Comay for any pickup/dropoff)

SPRING MUSICAL PIT ORCHESTRA
'Side Show' Begins Rehearsals
Pit Orchestra will be rehearsing just about every Friday after school, and every day after school for the two weeks, until the "Side Show" premiere on March 1. See the full rehearsal schedule on this handy PDF! Dates/times are subject to change.

MARCHING BAND
Marching Band + Color Guard Banquet This Friday
The marching band and color guard end-of-year banquet is this Friday! First, students will have dinner with Mr. McKeown and the marching band coaches at El Texate restaurant at 4:30 pm. (Dinner is free thanks to the generous owner of El Texate, but students are asked to contribute a $5 tip.)

Afterwards, parents and family members are invited to join the students in the Samohi cafeteria for a potluck dessert and awards party at 6:00 pm.

WIND ENSEMBLE ROME TOUR
Roommate Request Form: Deadline Extended to This Friday
Please complete the Tour Information Form to submit your roommate requests along with other important details (e.g., mobile number, allergies, food requirements, instrument dimensions, tour jacket size). All forms are due this Friday, January 18.

Save the Date: Mandatory Rome Tour Meeting March 14
All tour participants (along with one parent or guardian) must plan to attend the mandatory Rome Tour meeting on Thursday, March 14, from 7-9 pm in the Samohi Band Room.
