Winter Concert This January 15
Come see the wonderful work your students have been doing at our Winter Concert next Tuesday, January 15, at 7 pm in Barnum Hall. Concert Café starts at 6 pm, so come early and enjoy a pre-show dinner with your family!

Concert Band (Period 5), Symphonic Band (Period 3), Symphonic Winds (Period 1), and the Viking Marching Band + Color Guard will perform.


>> Order your general admission tickets. For this concert, we will not be sending home ticket envelopes. You can also buy tickets at the door.

Band Parents Association Meeting This Tuesday
This Tuesday at 6:30 pm, we will have a Band Parents Association meeting in the Band Room. All are welcome! On the docket:

  • Directors’ reports (Winter Concert Jan. 15!)
  • BPA year-to-date income and spending
  • Bands at the Broad tickets go on sale next Tuesday
  • Brief discussion about band tours (Who? When? Why?)
SPRING MUSICAL PIT ORCHESTRA
'Side Show' Parent Meeting Tuesday at 7:30 pm
Immediately following the BPA meeting, we will have a mandatory parent meeting for Pit Orchestra players in the Band Room. Make sure you know what your student needs to get credit for this class, learn about the practice schedule and performance dates, and more.
BANDS AT THE BROAD
Support the Samohi Bands touring program and see a great performance at the same time. Join us at the 7th Annual Bands at the Broad benefit concert on Tuesday, February 5, starting at 6 pm. Tickets go on sale tomorrow at this link!

Invite family and friends to the beautiful Eli and Edythe Broad Stage for a special night with a cupcake and wine bar, silent auction, and a performance by the Samohi Wind Symphony and Wind Ensemble.
How Can I Help?
• Buy a ticket! Buy two! (Samohi Band students get in free; plus we offer a free student ticket for every adult ticket purchased)
• Donate a bottle of wine (valued at $30 or more) for our wine raffle! (The winner gets an instant wine collection)
• Solicit/donate an auction item! We'd love gift certificates or items from local merchants, lessons and experiences, vacation home stays, anything you can offer.
