Band & Choir Concerts This Week
|
|
We’re closing out this year celebrating the student’s resilience, strength, commitment, and our unity and community as Ballard High School musical groups with spring year-end series of virtual concerts. As some groups were able to perform in person, some will be taped performances of the group, getting us one step closer to “regular concerts".
|

Performances from the Choir concert will also be available after the zoom concert on our YouTube Channel. Ms. Rowley will email families the playlist the day of the concert. The Vocal Jazz performance on June 9 will be similar, and the zoom link will be emailed to those families.

This Sunday, at Tom Douglas' Serious Takeout brunch, from 10:30 - noon, you can hear live music from the 5 1/2 Cats. They are Orchestra students that formed a string quartet and have been meeting throughout the pandemic to keep up their skills. Come on out to have a listen.

Help Procure Items for the Auction
|
|
Please help us build an amazing repetoire of items to include in our Golf Classic Auction this year. We have procured one item so far; a Swanson's gift card for $100. That's a minimum of $100 coming back to BPA. Do you have card you could donate or do you own a business that could donate a gift card? Email Jill Hansen with your contributions and ideas. 100% of the funds raised from auction items we procure go to our program.

Parent Volunteer Roles for 2021-2022 school year
We implore parents to consider donating time to help make every child's experience in Ballard Performing Arts the best that it can be. Most volunteers work full time, do not necessarily have experience with their volunteer position, and share only a few hours or less each week to support this program. Here are the BPA Booster opportunities for the upcoming year:
Newsletter Editor
Work with the communication team to compile and send the Ballard Performing Arts weekly newsletter (this very newsletter). Bring your spelling and grammar skills and 2 - 3 hours per week, we have an email application and a lot of knowledgable folks to help. Contact ballardperformingarts@gmail.com for more information.
Fundraising Chair
Take on one major fundraiser event or effort and supervise/be the point person on the leadership team for other fundraising efforts. No fundraising experience required and lots of guidance is available! Contact Jeannette at bpabpresident@gmail.com for more info.

In honor of our seniors, here is "For Good" from Wicked by our 2020 choir seniors.

All City Band is a GO!
Registration is now open for the 2021 All-City Band. This is a wonderful all-school summer marching band that will rehearse three evenings a week at Memorial Stadium and in normal times, performs at neighborhood and community parades, especially those related to Seafair. This summer will be a shorter program and they will be doing a field show rather than parades.
Membership will be open to students in the graduating classes of 2020-2025.
