You'll love the fact that these burgers come together in less than half an hour and feature lean ground turkey instead of beef and English muffins instead of buns to help reduce the calories. Feel free to serve the burgers with grilled corn and peppers alongside for a marvelous meal. The slaw that tops these burgers is a little bit basic. It features slaw mix, sliced cucumbers, fresh lime juice, and a touch of salt. For some more flavor, add seasoned rice wine vinegar, minced cilantro, hot chili oil, or hot sauce (just keep in mind that this could affect the recipe's nutritional value).

  • 2 sprays cooking spray
  • 1 cup packaged coleslaw mix (shredded cabbage and carrots)
  • ¼ cup English cucumbers, julienned or sliced super thin
  • 1 tbsp fresh lime juice, or to taste
  • ¼ tsp Kosher salt
  • 1 lb uncooked 93% lean ground turkey
  • 2 tbsp cilantro, fresh, finely chopped
  • 1 tbsp low sodium soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp ginger root, grated or finely chopped
  • 2 medium garlic cloves, finely chopped
  • 4 tsp reduced-calorie mayonnaise
  • 1 tsp Chili sauce, sweet variety
  • 4 light English muffins, toasted

  1. Coat a large griddle, outdoor grill rack, or stovetop grill pan with cooking spray; preheat to medium-high.
  2. In a medium bowl, combine slaw mix, cucumber, lime juice, and salt; toss to coat and set aside.
  3. In a large bowl, combine turkey, cilantro, soy sauce, ginger, and garlic; divide the mixture into four balls and then gently press each one into a 4-inch patty.
  4. In a small bowl, combine mayonnaise and chili sauce.
  5. Grill or broil patties until the internal temperature of burgers reaches 165°F, about 4 to 5 minutes per side.
  6. Spread half of each English muffin with 1 1/4 teaspoon chili-mayonnaise; top with a burger, a scant 1/3 cup slaw mixture, and a muffin top.
  7. Serving Size: Yields 1 burger per serving with the toppings!
