Fannie Mae Lowers Forecasts for Mortgage Rates, Home-Price Growth
by Sarah Wolak
Fannie Mae's Economic and Strategic Research (ESR) Group has revised its forecasts for mortgage rates and home-price growth downward in its July 2025 Economic and Housing Outlook. Key updates include:
-
Mortgage Rates: Now expected to end 2025 at 6.4% and 2026 at 6.0%, slightly lower than the previous projections of 6.5% and 6.1%, respectively.
-
Home Price Growth: Forecasted to grow 2.8% in 2025 and 1.1% in 2026, down from earlier estimates of 4.1% and 2.0%.
-
Home Sales: Total home sales are projected at 4.85 million units in 2025 and 5.35 million in 2026, reflecting a modestly optimistic outlook for housing activity despite slower price growth.
These adjustments reflect expectations of a more stable interest rate environment and a cooling in home price appreciation, likely influenced by broader economic conditions and affordability challenges.

The Great Retirement Transition: 5 Strategies For Employee Wellness and Knowledge Transfer
by Lorraine Wiseman
As millions of Baby Boomers approach retirement, organizations face two major challenges: preserving institutional knowledge and supporting employee well-being during this transition. Here are five key strategies to address these issues:
-
Start the Conversation Early: Most companies begin retirement planning too late. Starting discussions 2–3 years in advance allows for smoother transitions.
-
Establish Formal Mentorship Programs: Structured mentorship—beyond informal chats—ensures effective knowledge transfer.
-
Support Psychological Readiness: Retirement isn’t just a financial shift—it’s a major identity change. Organizations should provide resources and coaching to help employees mentally prepare for life after work.
-
Redefine Roles in the Final Years: Instead of a hard stop, allow retiring employees to gradually shift into advisory or part-time roles. This maintains engagement and facilitates smoother handoffs.
-
Celebrate and Honor Departures: Recognizing retirees’ contributions fosters a culture of respect and continuity. It also reinforces the value of long-term service and encourages knowledge sharing.
These strategies help transform retirement from a sudden exit into a purposeful, supported transition that benefits both the individual and the organization. Click HERE for more insights.

-
“Why Not Me?” – Believing that if others can succeed, so can you, is a powerful motivator.
-
Everything You Need Is Within You – Trusting your inner resources helps you take the first step toward change.
-
Failure Is Feedback – Mistakes are not the end but a path to learning and growth.
-
You Are in Control of Your Mindset – Choosing empowering thoughts leads to empowering outcomes.
-
Challenges Are Opportunities – Obstacles are chances to grow, not reasons to stop.
-
Success Is a Choice – Believing in your ability to succeed influences your actions and results.

Abundance Is Everywhere – Adopting a mindset of abundance helps you attract opportunities and positivity.

Smaller Banks Can Tap This Short List to Loom Large in a Competitive Market
by Vall Herard
In a financial landscape dominated by large institutions, smaller banks can still thrive by focusing on three key strategies:
-
Build Consumer Confidence Through Community Impact: Smaller banks often have deep local roots, allowing them to make a visible difference in their communities. Institutions like Ponce Bank and Mission Valley Bank demonstrate how mission-driven banking—such as lending to underserved neighborhoods and supporting local initiatives—can build trust and loyalty.
-
Leverage Technology for Agility: While they may lack the scale of big banks, smaller institutions can be more nimble in adopting fintech solutions. This includes improving customer experience, enhancing fraud detection, and modernizing core systems to stay competitive in a digital-first environment.
-
Innovate in Deposit Strategies: To attract and retain customers, community banks are exploring creative deposit products and personalized services that reflect local needs and values.
Despite industry consolidation and declining consumer trust in large banks, smaller banks can stand out by combining local focus, tech agility, and mission-led values to grow sustainably and meaningfully. Click HERE to learn more.

Why Saying "No" Can Be a Smart Career Move
by Naphtali Hoff
Saying “no” is a strategic career move that empowers focus, balance, and long-term success. It helps prevent burnout by protecting your time and energy, especially when you're already at capacity. By turning down tasks or opportunities that don’t align with your goals, you prioritize what truly matters and improve your ability to deliver high-quality work.
Saying no also builds respect—it shows you understand your limits, value your expertise, and are committed to meaningful contributions rather than spreading yourself too thin. It enhances productivity by eliminating distractions and allows you to invest in high-impact efforts. Over time, this leads to better performance, stronger professional relationships, and a more sustainable career path. In short, saying “no” isn’t about closing doors—it’s about choosing the right ones to walk through. Click HERE to learn more.

Your copy should address 3 key questions: Who am I writing for (audience)? Why should they care (benefit)? What do I want them to do (call-to-action)?
Create a great offer by adding words like "free," "personalized," "complimentary," or "customized." A sense of urgency often helps readers take action, so consider inserting phrases like "for a limited time only" or "only 7 remaining!"
