What's Happening at CUNY

Some CUNY students have been chasing their dreams with help from Ponce Bank, which established a scholarship at 12 of our colleges in 2022. Here, some of the recipients share how they have benefited from the program.

Students, faculty and staff went on an exclusive museum visit, honoring the life and legacy of political powerhouse and CUNY alum Shirley Chisholm!

This third-generation CUNY student followed in her family’s footsteps, graduating from the same college as her parents and grandparents.

Starting this fall, many community college students pursuing an associate degree in high-demand fields will be able to attend CUNY tuition-free!

Veterans who served at least four years on active duty now qualify for full-tuition awards at CUNY under the historic expansion of New York State's Veterans Tuition Awards Program announced by Governor Hochul today.

Congratulations to this accomplished CUNY president on being named a 2025 Woman of Distinction by the New York State Senate. 💫🌟

      CUNY joined last weekend’s NYC Pride March to celebrate our LGBTQIA+ community.

      This national leader in social work education is adding another prestigious position to her resume and she’s the first person from her college to do so.

      CUNY has a centralized online portal to report instances of discrimination and retaliation on campuses.

      The new travel ban that took effect on June 9 imposed restrictions on nationals from 19 countries from entering the U.S. Learn more here.
