Pastor's Update January 9, 2021
Happy after Christmas and New Year to you all. Thank you for your cards, goodies, gifts, and gift certificates to the three of us. The added weight you’ll see on us this winter is from your generosity and goodness. From the bottom of our hearts, we thank you!

We remind you that Alpha starts next Wednesday evening January 13 at 7:00 pm.  For those who didn’t see the segment when co-chairs Karen and Tom shared their reflections and invitations a few weeks back on Clergy live, you can find it here or use the button down below!

This Friday night and Saturday morning some of our young children are scheduled to come to the sacrament of forgiveness and reconciliation. Keep them in your prayers as they are immersed in this beautiful sacrament of baptismal recommitment as children of God.

Special thanks to Sam Samorian, Aaron Renninger, the Knights of Columbus, and all the parish members who have served us so well as attendants and Ushers and other Liturgical ministers during these Covid times…and, especially, in the Christmas season. Your generosity is keeping us safe and many who are attending mass in person are so grateful.

Folks, we’re heading into what the President of our Seminary College called the TUNNEL MONTHS – the dark, grey days of January, February, and early March. All creation around us is resting or hibernating… except us. It’s very easy to slip into depression or to be overwhelmed by our usual doubts or questions. Make sure you are reaching out to family, friends, or one of us on the parish staff if you find yourself slipping into the abyss. Take a walk. Go on a drive. Walk the beach…it looks completely different in the winter. And remember, you can always find a listening ear and elbow bumps here.

Well. This is more enough for this week. Say a prayer for the parish, our country, for each other, and your motley priests. Be kind to yourself and to those you meet along the way to the great and open heart of God.
Important Announcements and Dates
Children's Faith Formation
Due to the increasing cases with Covid-19, our CFF team decided to hold off on returning Middle School CFF this week. We will meet back on January 24th. Your teens are in our prayers and we are looking forward to seeing them when we return back to class!
Williamsburg House of Mercy
Thank you, Saint Bede parishioners, for serving our neighbors in need. Williamsburg House of Mercy provided 1300 individuals with Thanksgiving dinner ingredients and 812 children with multiple Christmas gifts thanks to your generosity!

Did you know? The new Williamsburg House of Mercy “Bridge to Home” emergency shelter program provides a safety net shelter to those in danger of sleeping on the streets this winter as we see area thermal shelters forced to close for most of their season due to the pandemic. For many people, this is the only source of shelter right now while congregate shelters remained closed.

WHOM is currently in need of staple items such as:
diapers (especially newborn, and sizes 5&6)
Regular and super feminine hygiene products
peanut butter
jelly
canned veggies
protein
pasta
pasta sauce

Adult Faith Formation
Happy New Year to all our Parishioners

In this new year, as we continue to adjust to the way we worship, grow in faith, and gather as a faith community, we want to encourage everyone to consider doing something new and different as the new year begins.

Do you have questions about faith? Would you like to learn something new? Would you like to meet new people and have new and different discussions? Even though we cannot gather together in person, we can meet virtually and still learn something new, grow in faith, encounter new people, and have different and uplifting conversations.

Consider registering for and participating in one of our Adult Faith Formation offerings available in this new year. Follow the links below to see what is offered and for registration information.
